Had a little extra time on my hands to day and decided to slap together an ork gun line. I would like to find the points for a ADL with a quad gun without losing to much fire power.

Whats the plan for the big mek? I think a weirdboy or a warphead would serve you better. More waaghs means more buffing the super shoota fire off the dakkajets.
Also I think you should go for 2 units of 30 boys and a unit of 20... more boys means more staying power.
Do that and the points you save on the 2 big shootas and the nob PK and BP plus the points from the mek an you have 145 left over enough for a warphead and a weirdboy to lead your 2 30 boy blobs.

The KFF is there to provide a cover save to the two units that will me marching forward to grab objectives. The could with extra waaaghs can help, or could do nothing. I would rather use an HQ that I know will helpful in every game.

Normally I would never take a unit of boyz on foot with less than 30 models. I just did feel that I had enough scoring units so I broke them down into 4 units. I guess I could make two 30 man units that will march forward have a 20 man unit and some grots stay back on home objectives.

The things I am most unsure of is (1) are the extra crew members on the big guns worth the points (2) will my list suffer not having an ADL with a quad gun?

In answer to your questions:
Yes but try to include a herder rather than 6.
Only if you are playing on a very barren battlefield.

How about knocking the lootas down to smaller units say 8-9 strong.
Loose the power claws from the mobs not going to advance
Drop a dakka jet (come on they can be knocked out of the sky by bolters!)

Use the spare points to get:
a weird boy or another mek (giving access to double org chart)
3 more Big gunz units (3 cannon each)

You should have close to 100 points for a SAG or a defence line or invest in runt herders for the artillery, a handfull of ammo runts to allow fliers to be targetted and re-stock the boyz mobs with any spare points.

It'll give you loads more S8 weapons against 3+ saves or AV14 for glances and templates for use against hordes.

My gaming group does not use the double force org (yet) so that’s why it’s a 1999 list.
