When did they come up with the realmgate? I guess it was probably part of the end times?

Nope Realmgate is all brand new. There's also the Ophidian Archway (with a rather bitching relief of a Hydra fighting Sigmar sculpted on it)

That realmgate is awesomely painted. I like the green... energy or whatever it is.

I intend to buy the ophidian archway myself but will probably pass on the realmgate, just because the archway can be used in a multitude of games.

Awesome stuff, always good to see someone put as much effort into terrain as minis (though I'm very guilty of not doing that myself!)

The scenery looks really great. I've got a tower still to open up and work on myself, but need to finish other things first. You're tempting me to .. well at least check out the local prices for the realmgates.

@Para: I always find bigger models easier to paint. I spray undercoated these at around 8am this morning and they were done by 4pm. Less than 2 hours painting and they were done, and most of the waiting was for washes to dry.

The sad thing is I am very tempted by the Numinous Occulum as well..

@Grim: yup AOV is bang on the money there.

@Squall: The Archway certainly has more general use but my old LOTR terrain largely covers that for me.

Have finished of the second Realmgate, and also did a spur of the moment miniature.

As I said i wanted the two realmgates to look different, so I did this:

I have had this Nurgle lord sitting around unpainted (and indeed unbuilt) for ages so I based him appropriately and painted him up...for no real reason:







Right I have some BloodReavers I have been avoiding...

Yep! Nurgle dude is spot-on. The second realmgate looks icky. Like khorne warriors should be spewing out of it with bloods and all.

Great work on all three. The new realmgate looks very visceral, but the brownstone, aged bronze and such on it also looks really nice.

I really like the red colour of the stone you have used on your second gateway,

The interior of the second Realmgates was white, black wash and then a layer of "Blood For The Blood God". The Nurgle Lord was also the first time I have used " Nurgle's Rot". I was very happy with the effect.

Have finally got my Goretide done, am very happy with the overall look of the force.

Great stuff as ever, that's an impressive army indeed! I love the Dragon Ogre models, can't wait to see what you do with them! Did they come with the oval bases, or did you get those separately?

I'll admit I'm a big fan of the plastic Dragon Ogres. Really nice beefy models. Will you be going for a Shaggoth too?

@Paradigm: No, I bought a couple of the base sets for future use, I will get plenty of use out of them.

@AOV: I love the dragon Ogres as well, I like the Shaggoth too but am unwilling to go the Finecast route. I painted one years ago, a cracking miniature.

I like the idea of a Khorne/Nurgle unholy union.

That's an awesome looking force there, mate. The Dragon Ogre kicks arse as well, and looks like he'll fit in perfectly with the Goretide.

By the way thraxas- that Bloodsecrator is badass in game. Slaughtered a lot of my Stormcast Eternals on his own.

Had a clear through of my miniatures to take stock, and boy that was fun. 226 unpainted miniatures all told. And that is just my GW pile, never mind Mantic or Wyrd. So I have a little delivery due saturday/monday and that will take me to the 226 miniatures.

There is no way that I would paint that before buying any new stuff but I have decided to paint 25% of it before allowing myself to buy anything else, so that is 56.5 minis to paint, so say 57.

@Para, I believe so. My backlog of models is a REALLY NICE pile... so it's either very heartening or very discouraging

I'd like to see all of the Hawk Lords done. With only 20 of them it's a very achievable target, it should bump your existing force quite nicely, and still leave 30-odd figures to select to paint from the rest.

Have painted some Stormcast Eternal Liberators today. Will get pics up Monday.
