The Chaos Spawn models are rather expensive and not very well looking. Therefore, I'm searching for an alternative.
As said elsewhere, a box of Spawns comes with a lot of bits so that Ogres could be converted into Spawns.
Has somebody already done it (pics)? Other ideas?

Might try for a box of tyranids, and a pack of green stuff. With some imagination you can get great chaos spawns out of gaunts or genestealers, and tossing in spare CSM mutation parts.... that should do the trick.

Cut the legs off of one genestealer, sculpt them onto another one so it has 4 legs, and take the first genestealer, and sculpt it to have a slug's or a snake's torso/body. Give another one plenty of arms, and give another one still a modified carnifex head (just a giant set of jaws gaping out from where the head should be.... no actual eyes or head)

chaos spawn are the easiest thing to create, becuase... well... they're so random.

Might be you have a firend with ravener parts? awesome, they have spare chest pieces, do some work on them, as some chest pieces have spine-holes. Turn those into eye-spots or mouths, and slap something together.
