Hey dakka,

as part of my csm I want to field two or three units of three chaos spawn with mark of nurgle. I don't really like the GW models for spawn and beasts of nurgle (aside from being expensive) so I'm looking for a nice idea to convert some of my own. I was thinking about buying a box of ogre bulls and converting from there on but any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Keep in mind, i'm fairly new to greenstuffing so I have limited abilities there, though i'm willing to put in the time.

Do you prefer using 100% GW minis? A Nurgle themed spawn could easy be made with combining a Reaper Otyugh and Carrion Crawler. They're a nice blend of ugly/oozy that Nurgle likes.

Thanks, nice tip. I'm not planning on playing any tournaments so I don't need the models to be 100% gw. not at all!

Take the Spawn, Fantasy Trolls (river are best), and Vampire Count Crypt Horrors. Just model them up all Chaosy and 40k'ish. Then take GS and make little balls of it. Place it on the model and pokes a hole through the middle with a WATERED down end of a paintbrush (not the brush end, other side). Then take a small XActo blade or some other fine blade, and just run it own the sides over and over dragging the ends along with it. it makes great looking pustules and such!
