Here is one of the latest models I completed. she was filled with challenges from fitment problems to the always challenging white paint scheme. More pics of the whole painting process are posted on my blog. Thought others faced with painted her might glean some tips from my process.

I'm painting this model, so to see it posted is quite interesting.

I immediately noticed the chains are different. I saw on your blog you mentioned changing them but what made you make this decision?

I bought and assembled this model about 2 years ago, but I've only started painting it about 4 days ago. I really wish that I'd not built it as a solid piece because getting the brush onto the acolyte type models is extremely difficult and messy

I think you did a great job with the white colours and the skin. The red gems show up nice and brightly too. This may be a rather noob question but why did you paint the skin green to begin with and do you do it with all "flesh" tones you do?

I've gone for a "dark" version for my own, and I'm not 100% sure on the colour scheme, I'll share a link if you're interested : http://puu.sh/1tJmU

How are you finding the flag part of the model? For me personally it's extremely bendy and I think before long it'll end up snapping off.

Thank you for the compliment and interest.
The chains didn't have good fitment and was extremely cumbersome so I decided using actual chain would lend mor control and look a bit more realistic. And yes, I'm sure It is quite difficult to paint this model assembled. If I were you Id consider taking it apart to save your sanity As for the underpaint of green for flesh, yes I start all my flesh with exception to demons with green. It is a throw back to portrait painting. When painting flesh tones with oils it is common to start with an olive green color as human skin has practically every color somewhere in it....I guess the short answer is it helps give depth and realistic tones to the flesh.
The flag is one drop away from being broken. I wanted to find a way to make a different pole out of rod but client budget didn't allow. I also used a pewter base which added much needed weight. Best of luck Sarius. The blood on the eyes is a nice touch.
