I've almost finished painting my Iron Warriors Forgefiend and I'm trying to figure out how to make an awesome base for it. Any ideas for this guy?

Looking good. Maybe a torn down and destroyed building, as if the Forgefiend has shot its way through a structure. Some dead loyalists would also fit on their nicely

I have some broken down brick walls I had thought about, and some barrels. I've never made a dead loyalist, any idea on how to make them look dead? I have a bunch of space marine and IG bits, just not sure how to make them look dead.

Its fairly expensive, and is resin, but looks great.

Or you could just slice up some models, i done this to make the dead salamander on the side of my Chaos LR

Those are pretty cool. I went through my bits boxes and I actually found some Pig Iron dead infantry pieces that I had. I also found some razor wire. I like where this is going. I'm still open to ideas from anyone else because I'm making a Maulerfiend soon.

I was actually going to recommend those, but id didn't know whether you were going with a GW only base. Be sure to post some images of what you come up with.

Take a spare torso, cut the arms to lay flat or in any way you wish, and hide the bits of the loyalist that you don't have under some rubble perhaps?

These are what I came up with as rough ideas. They have to be worked out and I'm not sure which one to go with. I kind of like the wall being blown down on top of the loyalist, and I could make him Imperial Fists to boot. I also like the barbed wire as well. These are just rough drafts so to speak, for example the loyalist would be covered under more rubble and more stuff with the wire. Any suggestions?

There'd need to be more rubble, but it works

Which one looks better, or the idea of which one is cooler? The dead loyalist or the barbed wire? If I do the loyalist, I was going to make graffiti on the broken wall, and more evidence of loyalist/chaos battle. If I do the barbed wire, I was going to have at least two rows of wire, and maybe a trench and some planks on the ground for a walkway.

Either would look great, but if you do the wire, make it going between his legs, all at the from makes the base look front heavy.
