I understand that relentless is better for assault now that you can snap fire, but I woudl hate to roll on that chart with a Assault squad and get something I can't use because I don't have any heavy weapons in that unit. The other thing is units that use ranged weapon that are blast would use this a lot since yu can't snap fire blast weapons.
We play for fun and I like the chance that you can pick what you want when you roll on the chart. I will have to keep an eye on that to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. The think that balances this out is that if the unit is destroyed you lose the ability and that unit. So what happened before when we tried this in 5th is the "veteran units" tend to be targted more and they don't usually survive long.
