I painted a marine sergeant a while ago (yes, I need to do a touch-up) and I didn't know what to do with this banner, so I kinda just messed around and painted what's in the picture. Is there an easy way to make a good looking banner, as in not freehanding? Haha
Thanks for the help in advance.

Paint it a base colour and wait for it to thoroughly dry. Mask half of it off with tape or something, and paint it a different colour and remove the mask (carefully). Add transfers. I believe the other members have the same pattern on one of their knees.

That's a nice idea, i'll have to try that. I need to buy some MicroSol and MicroSet if I want to do transfers.

Yep, I'd play around with masking something off and lay down some interesting patterns.

Thin coats, and the edges will need touching up to clear up the lines, but it's a quick/easy way to get something that looks at least halfway decent.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

What kind of tape would you use for masking though to not pull off other paint?

Blue masking tape should not remove paint if the paint is sufficiently dry.

Go hit Walmart and check the paint section. I take a preference to stuff called "Frog Tape"

A bit more pricey than the typical masking tape, but it hasn't hurt my my miniatures yet.

I have used Frog Tape as well and it should work nicely, I believe I did some masking on my Storm Raven and a few other units with Frog.
