Infiltrating Broodlord

After reading some of the other ideas floating about, I thought it might be fun to take a stab at a hypothetical air superiority Flying Monstrous Creature as well.

Everything below is a work-in-progress, so critique is quite welcome!
---------------------------------------------------------------

Tyranid Siren (190 points) - Heavy Support

WS: 5, BS: 3, S: 5, T: 6, W: 4, I: 5, A: 2, LD: 8, Sv: 4+

Type: Flying Monstrous Creature

Unit Comp: 1 Tyranid Siren

Biomorphs:
* Rending Claws
* Static Discharge
* Hardened Carapace

Special Rules:
* Instinctive Behavior - Feed
* Aerial Predator
* Midair Collision
* Fleet

Static Discharge:
Range: 18’’, S: 3, AP: 5, Assault 3, Haywire
The multitude of fine sensory hairs covering the carapace of the Siren constantly harness ambient static electricity and direct it to a set of symbiotic organisms housed in the creature’s thorax. Upon detecting a threat, the stored charge is amplified and discharged in a crackling cascade that disrupts electrical systems and synapses alike, leaving the weakened victim easy prey for the Siren's claws.

Aerial Predator:
Siren are adept at aerial conflict, being originally created to subdue flying prey too large or too fast for other creatures to deal with. They have Preferred Enemy (Flying Monstrous Creature) and may reroll armor penetration rolls against Fliers and Skimmers.

Midair Collision:
A Swooping Siren may attempt to assault Zooming Fliers and Swooping Flying Monstrous Creatures as though they (and the Siren) were in Hover or Glide mode. This is however a potentially dangerous thing to do! After rolling for charge distance (ignoring terrain entirely) but before consolidating into the fight, the Siren must take a Grounding Test to see if its high altitude dive collides with its flying target or misses and crashes it into the ground instead. If successfully passed, move the Siren into base contact and resolve the assault as normal. Hits inflicted by overwatch while using this rule do not require the Siren take a Grounding Test.

Options:
The Siren may exchange its Rending Claws for one of the following:
* Scything Talons………………………………........ Free
* Lash Whips………………………………...............20 points

The Siren may take any of the following:
* Toxin Sacs……………………………….............. 10 points
* Adrenal Glands………………………………........10 points
* Regeneration……………………………….............15 points
* Implant Attack………………………………...........15 points

Give it 3 attacks and your golden. Otherwise, it doesnt do what it was intended to very well. I am also not very keen about it getting haywire effects although the BS 3 is somewhat encouraging. I do love this idea tho, top notch job sir!!!! Top notch... I wanna kill it

When your wife suggests roleplay as a result of your table top gaming... life just seems right

I took my wife thru the BRB for fantasy and 40k, the first thing she said was "AWESOME"... codex: Chaos Daemons Nurgle..... to all those who says God aint real....

In ur base, killin ur d00dz

All I can imagine is some kind of gargoyle/harpy/carnifex crossbreed... AND IT SOUNDS AWESOME! I think it's about time that Tyranids had a dedicated flying monstrous creature, not that there's anything wrong with the winged Hive Tyrant but to me it always seems like the wings are more used only to get somewhere and land and less to stalk the battlefield like a bird of prey kind of thing.

I think this would be awesome and my Wolves are eager to ground it permanently
