Hello internet!!

I hope you are all feeling full after a good Christmas stuffing

Now then, I am in need of some help, some motivation. You see i was invited along to a apoc game at my local friendly gaming club, but as its the new year special, your army must be coherent and meet the 3 colour rule.

Now this is a problem. Over the years I have collected a small pile of stuff that I've never really done much with and am now faced with a conundrum. Do i sit out the game, or only take a small token foce, or pull my finger out and get everything into a reasonable shape. What I propose is that from now until the 3rd of Jan i will paint and glue and go more then slightly mad, and you lovely readers will offer kind words of encouragement, tongue lashings for slowness or incompetence and advise on how best to paint and build the sea of plastic i have awaiting me...

I will be seriously dead from sleep deprivation if i get it all painted by the third haha.

Update for last night/ this morning.
I have got one of the russ's, the basilisk and the baneblade going with the main colour and gunmetal.
The scouts have been built and base coated.
4 of the speeders are built and primary coloured, the final one has the main body finished.

Plan fro this evening, finish building the final speeder, get the scouts primary colours (black and the fang, lovely and easy) on, slap more paint onto the ig tanks im currently rolling through and prep the other russ for spraying. I'd also like to do some more on the hellhammer, but there is a problem. The hell' was acquired at a very reasonable price second hand, it was either a) built by either a intoxicated, ill educated moron or b) a coked up badger with a fetish for superglue. Alas i will never know, but i do know that there are a lot of the smaller parts missing, including the sponsons, turret parts, front heavy botler turret, all the viewing hatches and portals and lots of other little details. So I am forced to either say it inst a complete model (and it doesn't play) or I battle damage the sweet living empra out of it. This is proving to be time consuming
If anyone has any suggestions for quick and easy battle damage please do pipe up.

Otherwise it will be build the final three boxes of fenrisian wolves and the 4 assault marines I've got waiting. That will almost completely fill up the battle company requirements, and they out comes the spray

Paint long and hallucinate off glue fumes

Right, question time.

For the IG Armour I am going for a desert camo theme, with Balor Brown and Baneblade brown being the main colours. My current painting stragey goes thus:
Basecost black with Humbrol acrylic spray.
Spray entire model with Humbrol acrylic yellow spray.
Use big flat brush to apply lots and lots of Balor brown.
Add banbelade brown as appropriate.

The problem im having here is that the Humbrol yellow spray has a gloss finish, making it very very hard to get the first couple of costs of balor to stick, or have any kind of colour consistency.

My question is this, as the yellow spray is ineffective, and painting the brown over the black takes just as long, what should I do to speed this up? I feel that i should mention that i do have the GW flamer spray gun thingy, but so far have been met with absolutely no suscess in helping me paint.

Right, this should have been done last night, but as i was reminded that as last night was supposed to be the boys new year celebrations, me staying in would have repercussions that would make slannesh feel queasy (my mates actually said that, all avid NON gamers. That gave me feels), and I really needed a pint. Too much glue, not enough alcohol. You need a balanced lifestyle after all

Long and the short of it, nothing got done yesterday, and due to other unavoidable circumstances, nothing major has been done today. But I thought, this hasn been the most pic heavy of blogs, and I'd like anyone who's reading this to understand precisely what I'm facing.

So below are the pictures of how everything is shaping up.

As you can see, this is hardly ready for the board yet, lots fo the models are missing arms, or heads, or jump packs etc. They also are suffering from acute not painted syndrome, or painted in someone elses colours syndrome.

However, i am feeling strangely confident. Looking at what needs to be done to the bare minimum of models to get them out on the table on Friday, and considering I have spray cans or army painters space wolf colour I now, more then ever think this is possible.

I mean, I started doing this this evening so i could finish on an, its not going to happen, cut my losses and run the armor (of which more arrived today, shiny shiny basilisks )

Whatever. I think tomorrow, there are going to be some very different pictures going up on this blog.

P.s. how do you adjust where the pictures appear on the post? Currently im adding them as attachments, but that just lumps them in the end and doesn't let me play with them. Suggestions?

For posting pics in the middle of a post, you can just copy/paste the url and surround it with the image tags.

So, (img)http://www.theimageishere.com(/img)

Just replace the parantheses with square brackets . There also should be an "Image" button above the text box where you type your post, which will give you the image tags if you forget what they are.
