Hello, I was wondering if anyone here knew if the Chaos Warhounds from WHFB use the same size base as the Flesh Hounds of Khorne? It seems like a less expensive alternative, and visually they look similar.

the bases for fantasy aint round but in 40k base size doesnt matter as much it does in fantasy.

I think they both use the cavalry base, no one has complained about mine so far

I personally prefered using fenris wolves as base models for khorne hounds. Chaos hounds are really tiny, and dont seem like t4 2w models. 40mm bases work better than bike bases (a chaos hound on a bike base looks pretty redonk. they fit on 25mm bases)

Technically, they use biker bases for 40k. But unless you go to a tournament or something, no-one will really mind, as it's not giving you an advantage (Actually, it's a tiny disadvantage, as you can't spread out so much)

Even if you did decide to go to a tournament, and still wanted to use the square ones for fantasy, just use blu-tac, to stick the round-edged base underneath, and decorate the little bit's that jut out.

I used the picture of Karanak in the new daemons codex as a reference for my flesh hounds ( warhounds). I stuck them on 40mm bases as they are beasts, not cavalry. Also the old metallic chaos war hounds came with both square cavalry bases and 40mm bases.

Hmm. Does anyone know if the new plastic Flesh Hounds use cavalry bases or 40mm?

Im almost positive the finecast Flesh Hounds come with WFB cavalry bases

In the daemon codex, Karanak is shown on a 40mm base (page 72). I can't seem to find any other images of flesh hounds (though I remember there being one of karanak, some hounds, and a bloodthirster in the background)

Honestly, either 40mm or bike bases would work fine. The square WFB cavalry bases are smaller than the bike bases, and stand out when compared to any other round 40k base.
There aint no plastic flesh hounds. The chaos hounds come on cavalry bases square though.

Yeah, flesh hounds and chaos warhounds share the same square base, even for 40k. They are tournament legal
