hi guys just started work on a shield drone. i came up with the idea of creating a force field around the drone that is visible. i have taken a picture of the model with no paint in it. Ultimately the forcefield will be painted up like the mass effect style shield in a orange type honeycomb. the paint scheme of the drone with be for the farsight enclave, take a look at my other threads for my Cadre fireblade and my pathfinders!
C&C most welcome, i will have time to adjust this as I'm not going to get round to painting this until the weekend / sometime next week

Could work, the honey comb thing could be awesome.
IMO you need a plastic shell that is as thin as possible, like ping pong ball thin.
Gum-ball machineballs are properly too thick.

what you can do is, if you have one, airbrush on a ink. it should tint the bubble without obscuring the drone.

at that, paint the drone a bit more vibrantly then normal so you can see the details (extreme highlighting)

the hex pattern though is going to be tough though i know they make hex pattern airbrush stensiles.

Yeah that was my plan, I use an air brush and I have some stencils. But the only problem is I have only ever used them on flat surfaces never on something round! But I picked a load of these clear balls up on ebay and they weren't expensive so I can play around and see what is best.
