Hi guys, gals, and fellow grotz and gitz . This is my first attempt at wip thread, I have many models in a limbo like state of existence and the purpose of this thread is to help motivate me to finish my half done projects. Also i am hoping to pick up a few tricks of the trade from some of you more experienced Dakka Heads. First a couple things about me. I am a chef by trade, I love horror and sci-fi, and i enjoy all things outdoors. I have been into 40k since i was a teenager but recently in the past couple years gotten a lot more into the modeling aspect of the game. This thread is primarily for my work army but i may throw some Imperial Guard in from time to time as my attention span can be short at best (ADD is a gift not a disability.). Oh, and one more thing, I can't stand (hate is to powerful a word) stupid cat pictures on the internet. Nothing against cats, just the pictures.... Anyways enough about me let's see some of my creations, or as i like to.call them "Controlled Disasters". First up.is my pain boy on warbike I used the head and urty syringe from the basic games workshop figure. The bike is a deff kopta conversion. I stole/borrowed the idea from another Dakka member, I do wish i could remember who so I can give them proper credit . I also used bits from the Dakka Jet box set. Still needs a good lick of paint and I will try to update that when I am done.

I got quite a bit done last night after work. Started work on another kopta/bike conversion. Added a couple of small bits to the pain boy, then decided to do a little painting on him. After that i started on a box of GW bikerz . The first two are pretty basic, then i remember seeing an awesome repose here on Dakka so I thought I would try it out. Again, i can't remember whose thread I saw it on, but hope mine isn't a train wreck of a recreation. After a bit of modeling I added some rocks to the repose for effect and started the base coat. Well that'd all for now. Hopefully another update soon, weekends can be pretty hectic so I don't know, just have to see how it goes. c&c welcome.

Nice bikerz for now, You should adjust a bit the focus on the camera tough and the light as well
Anyway, I'm happy You took proper inspiration from one of my favorite models

That is the model indeed that inspired mine!! Thanks for posting the picture. I was kinda going based off memory, looking at yours i see that your rider is really being launched through the air. Mine just looks like he is falling off. Thanks for the photography tips too, im working with my camera phone atm. Hopefully I will get a better camera soon. Automatically Appended Next Post: oh and btw your paint job is amazing, you are giving me a very high standard to meet up too. Also, upon third look, i am considering repositioning the rider. I don't want to mimic your model completely, but at the sametime i don't want to butcher your fine work.

Glad to help in every way possible mate
I think that with the rider get launched off the bike You'll get much more dynamism and balance on the minis (at least I had It )
Thanks for the painting compliments, much appreciated
