Utherwald Press, with help from Savage Mojo and Pinnacle Entertainment Group, is pleased to announce the Dieselpunk campaign setting Frozen Skies for the award winning Savage Worlds RPG system.

Set in the mysterious, frozen lands of Alyeska, it is an in-depth and informative guide to its history, geography, myths and legends.

Frozen Skies book also introduces characters who have made names for themselves in Alyeska including those living on both sides of the law, the pioneering ice pilots without whom the land would be virtually uninhabitable, and the various factions who strive to bring civilisation to this inhospitable world.

Sounds cool!

Any neat mechanical tidbits you can share? Is it planned to have players fighting in and around airships, weird devices, etc? Will there be expanded/altered device rules from the ones in the main rules?

Looking at stuff like boarding actions up in the air, chiefly concerning planes and of course airships...but I have alot of the rules to work on at present.

Work progresses on adapting Frozen Skies for Savage Worlds and getting a Kickstarter sorted out.

To drum up some interest heres an extract from the book.

Royal Alyeskan Air Police

Coming into being after the arrival of the aircraft, the constables of the Royal Alyeskan Air Police have built a reputation for themselves in the short time they have existed. The Air Police has a presence in most settlements across the Territory with Broken Spires being the obvious exception. In minor settlements, this is typically in the form of a small garrison of a ten man section commanded by a Corporal. Larger towns tend to boast a platoon of three sections, with densely populated areas, such as Gravenburgh, having a battalion sized force patrolling its streets. It maintains a sizeable Aerial Corps manned by full-time pilots flying a number of fighters and transport planes, with scout planes are used to patrol the more remote areas of Alyeska.

The Air Police are very highly regarded, even by those on the wrong side of the law. Very few people have managed to outrun the Air Police for long, and those who have, usually either end up eventually turning themselves in or has their frozen corpse discovered during the spring thaw.

To date, Ryland Flinch remains the only man to avoid arrest successfully, having been on the run now for over two years. Originally wanted by the Air Police for questioning over illegal hunting, Flinch opened fire upon the constables that came to question him and embarked upon a one man war against the law which has become a legend in its own right, its fame spreading throughout the Commonwealth. Flinch's story has most certainly been blown out of proportion and romanticized by overzealous reporters and writers, but spending two years on the run and surviving alone in the Alyeskan wilderness is still an impressive feat by itself.

Awesome!

It's being done for the Savage Worlds Deluxe version, though you can pick up a mini-rulebook that has everything you need to play for less than $10.

Similarly with the PDF version of Frozen Skies it won't set you back much more than perhaps $20 for both it and the Savage Worlds rulebook.
