Hey guys
throughout 4th/5th edition, I had a pretty good casual Ravenwing and Deathwing list that brought me a lot of victories and fun times. I am not all about fluff, but I prefer my armies to be a little bit different and have some flavor that fits the army I am playing as opposed to just spamming out the "best" units. Plus, I have found that a lot of my units do pretty well despite their "sub-par" composition etc. As such, I would like to show you the list I came up with as I transition it to 6th edition. I think it encapsulates the feel of Deathwing and Ravenwing working together, and something that I can strive for. Any advice would be helpful though, as I feel that there are a few aspects of the list that I was fiddling with but ultimately decided against but may need to reconsider. I tried to construct a lit based on the models I already own as well, to keep costs down as much as possible.

General strategy - I will use Sammael and the Ravenwing to deploy aggressively and scout forward, concentrating on one side of the field. If I end up going second, then I will need to block
LOS as much as possible to ensure that I can survive. I will then use the telepot homers of the bikes to usher in the rest of the terminators, landing in the perfect position with Belial and the command squad. This should give my whole army
FNP, Twin-linked, etc and can put the hurt on early. The typhoons will stay in the back field and pick off transports and any squad that is heading toward my home table objectives. If they die, then oh well, it's less shots going towards my line of bikes and terminators. Once the terminators are down, I can hopefully survive the following return fire thanks to
FNP etc and them move, shoot, and charge with most of the army. The Deathwing should be able to take any objective I want and the Ravenwing can hopefully zoom to a free objective later in the game.
Strengths:
FNP for the whole army hopefully, 5 in your face scoring units, two very strong command squads, good synergy.
Weaknesses: No anti-flyer, low model count, suffers if going second, weak against heavy armor except in close combat
So, there is my flavorful list. I really wanted to take a land raider with some
DW Knights or as a ride for the
TH/
SS terminators but I just could not find where to take the points from. If anyone has any suggestions to improve the list please let me know, but keep in mind that this is not a
WAAC army. I want it to be good, fun and fluffy for the Dark Angels as a whole.
