Paint looks really thick. The base coat (silver) looks really clumpy. Have you ever worked with "wash" befor?

Maybe thats why, Its abuild up of color instead of one clean coat. I can see black under some spots where he should be silver mostly the head. Maybes its the picture.

Basecoated Black
|
Did you base coat with regular old spray paint or brush paint in Abbadon black? I have started using the actual Citadel basecoat spray paint. It is expensive, but it has the smoothest finish I have found in spray paints. Also; when you start painting add a little water to your mix to thin out the paint, by doing that it shouldn't look so clumpy. I like the conversion though. I am asword junky, and though I believe Abbadon the Despoiler could whip Draigo, It is a cool model to paint! I would like to see more of your work..

Great little conversion, a very menacing look to the model indeed but as for not feeling 'comfy' remember you’ll never get more confident if you don’t have a go(dive in! hell whats the worst that can happen? you learn alot but need to strip the model back once you get better, no harm done?), you can work back over the grainy silver work with a watered down coat, then add in some washes, a light blue glaze will give you that grey knight silver then shade the models recessed area with a dark bluely brown wash instead of relying solely on dry brushing which you can use to add a white high light to your silver to make it gleam.

You'll never get better if you don't get out of your comfort zone. Even then, washes are basically talent in a bottle, and will make your models look much better for basically zero effort. Just use a different brush/water for them than you use for your metallics (you don't want flakes of silver floating in your wash) and you'll be good. If you're afraid of it getting too dark, just drybrush the model with the base color again afterwards. This will leave it dark in the recesses.

What is a good way to strip down the paint without harming the plastic? Id like to start from a plain model again if i could, id almost like to strip off the glue also if i could and reassemble as there is some excess glue i have found that really bugs me.

Dettol liquid disinfectant seems to work wonders.. If you can not easily find it (like here in Italy), try something similar (again, here we use a detergent called "chante clair"). To speed up the process and achieve better results, you also may use a small ultrasonic cleaner.
For painting itself, I'd recommend priming the model with Tamiya grey spray or with Vallejo surface primer (a little bit tricky, the latter), then - rather than drybrushing - try basecoating and then building up highlights and shadows glazing the paint (difficult, I haven't 'mastered' it yet). By the way, there is no such thing as "thinning too much"
