Hey all. So this is my first serious attempt at painting (more than just washing necron warriors) and I was hoping to get some feedback on what I should do next and if this is blood raveny enough. Thank you guys!

Lookin good, tidy up the trim on the shoulderpads, get your connecting fibres (behind the knees, the hips and arms etc) done in boltgun and wash em black, and perhaps wash the whole marine in some Carroburgh Crimson or Nulin oil and it'll add a bit of depth to the model.

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

I've already washed the model with carraburg crimson. Should I do a second wash?

Also, that's a good idea on the fibers. Boltgun is leadbelcher now right?

Yeah it is now leadbelcher, perhaps a darker wash? Agrax earthshade?

Not bad, but definitely try and fill in the black on the shoulder pads. Green eye lenses are also a must for blood ravens. A black wash should help on the red. Also fill in the joints with black. The boltgun part is looking good though.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really appreciate it. Where should I wash the model in black? In between my "hightlights"or just on the joints?

And most definitely picking up some green. My game store was closed for today so I wasn't able to. Anyone have any suggestions on what type of green I should buy?

Somewhere just South of nowhere

I would actually wash the model in sephia (the red-brown one), pretty much all over (not rounded sections of the pauldrons, or the eyes. I would then add a black wash to the armor joints (behind the knees, joints in armor plating, head, etc).
Make sure to get the black wash in the eye lenses if you don't want to paint them green, otherwise they won't pop! I like your highlighting work on the back of the legs, and aside from the black on the shoulders it looks fairly crisp. You can leave the joints red if you want (the washes will make it look better), but if you want to make it a "true" blood ravens scheme, paint the joints ledbelcher, then wash black.

Okay cool. I have sephia on hand. That's kind of how I got the shoulders that color. I think I will wash it, but I hadn't ever noticed the black on the joints. Although honestly I hadn't really inspected it all that closely either. Thanks for the suggestions again. It really helps.

And I am most definitely picking up some green. Just not sure what colors to mix that'll work best for this set up. Whatcha guys think?

Paint in the wash to the recesses. Don't just wash everything.

I agree with what everyone above said

Love the pose of the model too. I also reccommend basing him once you are happy. Simply a little sand or some rocks from the garden (for cost effectiver basing) and then perhaps some static grass and he'll really look the part!

So I managed to buy some green and wash the joints in black and this is how it turned out. What do you guys think? Haven't done the sepia wash yet because I'm not sure it needs it. Also just scared to risk it. But since I'm the noob I could be wrong about this.
