**trying to get images to work
Stripping my DIY army called the Grey Snakes b/c I painted them over a number of years and I feel like I can do a better job. Here they are in all their 'ok' painted glory.
There are a few things I do not like. Right now they are half quartered on the limbs and shoulder pads grey/black, which makes it a bit difficult for me to do highlights consistently. Also the large amount of bronze paint made it easy to add bling when I started, but now I find it detracts given how much it is used.
With that in mind here is what I am aiming for in the repainting.
1. Have the primary colour be a matted neutral. However, no black primary as I already have enough of that with my deathwatch (perhaps grey to keep the chapter name of the grey snakes?)
2. Use strong highlights colours. Right now I am leaning towards either Orange or perhaps a lighter green then I already used. **If I use orange, how do you paint well with it... yellows/oranges seem a hard colour to work with.
3. What colours to use on the Aquila and skulls. Previously used a lot of bronze and silvers, but feel that I should move away from that maybe towards something a bit more bone like.
4. This is a
BA army, so their are a good deal of blood drop items on them. If I go with the orange, what colour should the gems be?
5. I like to keep my veteran and sgt markings the same (so I can swap them around). How would you mark them? (currently they are all bronze helmed, and double black shoulder pads).
** I guess space sharks with a bit more colour would be a good example.
