The first completed mini in my new iron warriors squad, and first attempt at free handing anything other than writing.

I really like it. You've made him look very gritty and realistic. The freehand is good. You could make it a bit sharper possibly, but that's the only criticism I have.

I like the freehand for the first try at the star of chaos, i have trouble doing lines. I like how your metallics aren't too bright or outstanding, i'd say the model looks "gritty" which is good.

wow. Thanks guys, to say he looks realistic and gritty is a huge compliment as that's what i was aiming for. Although i have to admit im gutted i didn't think of the human flesh banner. Ah well there's always next time.

I like it! I did practically the same thing. But with a Gor banner and a horned helmet.

Oh, it truly does pay off to play Chaos in both versions of Warhammer.

Freehand banners always look good, they're personal and more real, I feel.

Love the paint job, I'd be tempted to highlight bits here and there (skulls and banner for eg) but otherwise it looks like a great little mini dude.

Yeah I get that the base is kind of plain, it's intentional though. Eventually all my rank and file csm will be based this way, with the more ornate bases reserved for my characters.
