Hi guys, i am new to this forum, just saying. I need help with a scenery project i am doing. The scenery is a large cliff on which i would like to place my army, just for it to look good . i am having trouble forming the cliff edges and painting it. If i have enough people interested (comments etc) i will post pictures. Keep in mind that i am generally new to the table top warhammer and have close to no scenery supplies. i have made this project out of mortar sand (stuff that hardens) and cardboard! So far i think it looks pretty good, since i have very unsteady hands and absolutely NO artistic talent. Thank you guys, all help is highly appreciated and i will keep you guys updated (if anyone cares). Thanks for taking your time to read this, have a great day

Maybe add some natural stones to it for added realism just look around outside and see what you can find.
From a building point if view what ratio of sand to cement have you used? It looks very dark so I'm guessing about 50/50 Morter on its own can be quite powdery if not mixed to the right ratio. Would suggest at least 4 sand to 2 cement

You could also use some spagnum moss to give a bit of flora.

for ratio i used random, i find it will always dry the same, just take longer, as long as the mortar was very liquidy and pliable. How would i add natural stones? do i make them? with what and how? or do i just use rocks from the ground? Thank you both for the feedback! Automatically Appended Next Post: A big problem i would love some help with is the stone color for the sides of the cliff, the green color i added is for grass, obviously not growing on the vertical cliff faces, should i chisel it to make indents in the rock faces or just paint it and highlight? what colors should i paint/ highlight the cliff faces with? On the other hand, some moss sounds great, i will pick some up as soon as possible, only problem is i cant spend any $$$ on 40k, it's expensive and i need thee $$$ for the start of school. Thank you all for the help!

Add natural stones by finding rocks of the appropriate size, then gluing them on, i tend to build up sand or use gs to help blend in the rock itself.
