Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, my mobile phone sucks.

Basically the black undercoat didn't entirely cover the rhino's back and I made the mistake of applying too much paint wih my brush on the area, and now it got quite ugly. Is there a way to correct this? Or if you have any other suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. Note that I'm a beginner (duh) so nothing too difficult.

if it's just the hatch then use simplegreen or "totally awesome" cleaner and strip it off and try again.

Or if you need to, use a fine sandpaper or something of the sort to get the smoothness back to it. I know the hobby store here has some nice fine sanding stuff specifically for models and to get that last bit of smoothness out of it.
Come to think of it, now I'm gonna have to pick me up some of that stuff for my tanks.

Thank you very much! I used a sandpaper and it worked nicely.

Ladies emery boards/nail files come in a fair bit cheaper than fine modeling specific sandpaper/files and are perfect for that kind of job.
