Hey guys I will start the ball rolling, went to OP2 yesterday. For my list I decided to go all big guns and hull points. Let me first say that Orbital Weapons Platforms (OWP) hate me.
My Fleet:
28 Negvar class
5 Donatra
4 Interphase Generator
28 Negvar class
2 Terell
28 Valdor Class
5 Gowron.

Originally I was going to fly 3 Negvars but when I got to the store that moring they were sold out, oh well I figured the valdor would be just as good. I don’t remember every ones exact fleet but I will do the best I can.

Game 1
Mixed Fleet:
Enterprise D
Picard
Sulu
Anti-Matter mines
Tribbles
Ma’Tah
Martok
Praetus
Donatra
Cloaked mines
There was other stuff but this is all I can remember

This was a brutal game for me. My opponent could only roll hits for the OWP and my evade dice were not with me. I also had two ships in one turn get hit with the Anti-matter mines taking lots of damage. Thus the penalty for flying close formation. In the end I took out the Ma’Tah and the Preatus, but Picard lived to mock me another time. I lost and only scored 54 points, but a fun opponent who played very well.

Game 2
Federation Klingon Alliance:
Negvar
Nu’daq
Ma’tah
Klingon Captain
Enterprise D
Picard
And stuff?

This game went a little more like I planned. Turn 2 I focused all shots on the enterprise taking out its shields and giving it a point of damage. While the enterprise was making its slow turn to come back at me, my ships and his klingon ships flipped around a few times down the board edge. I focused on the Negvar first once it was down I went after the Ma’Tah. The absolute highlight of this game was a turn where the enterprise is off in la la land trying to turn around. I had three big ships to focus on his Ma’Tah all abilities combined, plus range one for a total of 21 shots. My opponent rolled like a champ and I rolled like a chump. Out of 21 attacks I only scored 2 damage on that thing. It took me another 2 turns to recloak and chase him down. I then finished off the Enterprise. The only ship I lost was the Valdor and all of its damage came from OWPs, I hate those things So I won, scoring 100 points.

Game 3
Enterprise d
Picard
Photons (5 shot)
And a bunch of other stuff.
Defiant
Sisco
Attack pattern delta
Worf
Obrien
Quantum Torpedoes
Cloak
And I think some other stuff
Elite Attack Die

This was an advantage to me, 3 on 2. Early on I focused on the Enterprise to take out its shields. Then I focused fire on the Defiant for about 3 turn. Donatra got smacked with photons from the Enterprise and the OWP in one turn crippeling her. The Enterprise finished her off. But the valdor and terell’s negvar responded and hunted down picard. This game was a little frustrating, once my opponent lost the defiant he wanted run from my ships along the board edge. But the big D is a slow turner. Also I don’t think my opponent was cheating, he didn’t seem like the type. However he was misusing “engage” on picard. He was making a white maneuver and then a green, and never taking the Auxillery Power token. It was about the 2nd time he moved 5 then went a 3 green, I realized what was going on. He claimed he misread it, possible. Either way I won and scored 100.

Those OWPs are a pain in the It seemed like every time they shot at me they were doing 2-3 hits. I rolled them for my opponents and I would get blank, blank, blank, battle station. One of the guys a next table from me had all of his ships finished off in one game by the OWP

The end of the tournament came down to me and the guy I lost to in round 1, he lost his 2nd round. I had 254 points he had 247. I won by 7 points. Though we both got a ship prize because the guy running the event already had one so they gave the third to 2nd place. Morral of the story NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.

In all it was a good tournament 8 people total. In my opinion not too big not too small. Nobody had 3 wins. The strange thing was that out of the 7 other players there were 6 Galaxy Class ships out there. I never expected that. 3 people were playing straight federation builds and they appeard to be doing well. Given the scenario I was expecting all Romulans & Klingons, who knew.

So how are the OP2s going for everyone else.

So I played my OP2 last night. The list worked out well, but Counter Attack and the Cloaked Mines weren't actually all that effective. I didn't use counter attack once, and I think the cloaked mines got off 2 hits throughout the whole tourney. So, 8 pts that could have been used better on other passive upgrades.

The Klingon synergy was more than enough to deal with one ship a turn. I don't remember what my opponent played in the first round, but in the second round I played against a Neg'Var, Valdore, Kraxon fleet. There were two of these fleets. I thought that both players should have held their Kraxon back a bit, to soak up damage without incurring hits. That particular list is very unforgiving, and has to be played perfectly. The third list I went up against was a two ship Klingon list.

The battles aren't really worth writing up, two fleets flew at each other down one lane. No one ever tried to get away and I won the event.

The Ch'Tang is a great ship.

How effective did you find Kronos One? I picked one up, haven't had a chance to use it yet. I am tempted by the low poimt cost though.

Did you guys use the FAQ for the cloaked mines? Where Andrew Parks said that the OWP count as ships for card text. Once that came out a lot of people lost their enthusiasm for them in this event. At my OP2 there was only one person flying a Praetus with them.
