Looking for some advice from any privateer press hordes/warmachine players out there.

I am interested in starting a force, and after much searching I found the only warcaster/warlock that really interests me.

I will buy the model just to paint if nothing else, since it is a LOVELY sculp, but is she fiedable in normal games? Or is she some sort of high point only thing?

Also, my Terran Alliance starter fleet arrived from Wayland Games yesterday, and faster than I ever thought possible. and they even gave me a free ship as an extra goodie

Yes she is ok in all games now. It used to be in the previous incarnation of rules, that you needed 750 pts games to field epic warlocks. This restriction is now removed with Mk2, so she can be fielded in all game sizes.

Plus there are Mercs as well from WM that you can use with circle.

While I am only just starting out in the game myself and thus hardly the go to guy for information... Someone in the local Escalation League is using her and it's only the first month's 15 point bracket, which would be about the equivalent of 40k's Combat Patrol rules. No idea how well she's performing, but as I recall the guy using her is the guy running the thing, so I would assume he knows what he's doing.

As for the Epic tag, lots of the Warcasters and Warlocks have a "Prime" and "Epic" version. The Epic version is an evolution of the character's story, how they have progressed as the time line extends. They are not inherently Better than their Prime version, just Different. More over, the vast majority of people don't care if you use the Prime fig with the Epic rules, or the Epic fig with the Prime rules, so just get the one that looks cooler, which is more often than not the Epic one.

Its a very asy entrance price of only 60 dollars for an entire starter fleet. The battleships are longer than Land Raiders.

That ship is a cruiser from my Terran Alliance fleet, which is still a work in progress. I chose Terrans cause the cruisers remind me of battlestars


No, I am not in Australia. I was ther briefly for a month for Christmas, but have since returned to Japan.
However I will be back in Australia in August, this time for a few years as I study my masters at University!

Aduro: Okay, that seals it for me. I will buy the new epic Kaya model. Is she new? My usual model retailers don't seem to stock her.

And what would be a decent size/amount of models to buy with her to play a decent game (whats the equiv of a 1,000 pt 40k battle in hordes?)

This week has been a small break from my Blood Ravens to paint some other stuff, but I will be resuming them next week

Question: Would people want to to rename this thread 'Roleplayer's models' and post all my Chaos Warriors, Blood Ravens, Hordes, Firestorm, Uncharted Seas, Malifaux models in one thread, or break them into different threads for the different models?

I am looking to expand my painting palette. ATM I am only using Games Workshop paints/brushes.

What are some good third party paints/brushes?
And when i say paints, I dont just mean the ranges (I knw their names), but what colours from the ranges are really unique and awesome that don't exist in GW's range?
Especially in the red/blue/green range.

Last of all, I have never painted human flesh before, which will be a new challenge for me to overcome with my Hordes models. I really want to make Kaya look sexy and feminine, and draw eyes straight to her. Are they any good guides on painting human flesh, spesifically females flesh?

I have no idea how new that fig you posted is, and the only thing I could tell you about what to get with her is that the guy using her currently uses a large Satyr and Werewolf thing I believe. Very new to it myself, and really only know what stuff I want for my one particular Warcaster. The different factions have different tactics, and then deviate even further depending on which particular caster you use.

I would guesstimate 30-40 pts for a ~1000 pt equivalent.

eKaya is from the last Hordes expansion Metamorphosis, which came out in December 2008. So she is not a new caster, but I think that most retailers who don't carry the whole line shy away from Epic casters.

This is a work in progress commission I am doing for a friend. They are Wolfguard Terminators.
Well, when I say commission, its more like, a surprise birthday present.
He is a hardcore space puppy fan, but never has any painted models to field due to his busy lifestyle.
I tried to get them to a strong table top standard.

3 virtually done, 2 more to go. The wolfguard leader still needs the fur over his shoulder added tho, and the wolf claw dude needs his eyes highlighted
