Hey everyone,

Just wanted to post the paint job i've done on my Battle suits. I had trouble with the lighting so the rust effect kind of looks bronze in it.

Let me know if the damage and corrosion does it or if they should look a bit cleaner!

Your technique is good, and your designs are unique. Very creative. On a technical level, I might cut the insertion tab off the missile pod in the top picture. It looks messy just hanging down there.

On a personal note, I don't dig this color scheme. I think that corrosion, battle damage, and dark colors don't really fit the whole Tau schema. The Tau are set up to be a dynamic, vibrant, energetic army, and these details lend it more of a war-weary, gritty vibe that is more at home with an Imperial Guard army. I don't think it really works with Tau, but that's just a personal preference, of course.

If, however, that's the kind of look you were going for, then you achieved it in spades!

Thanks for the feedback, didn't even think of cutting off the insertion tab!

That's what I am kind of debating right now. I definitely wanted to go for a grimy, haggard looking group but I find myself agreeing more with your POV and turning towards a nice clean design.

Thanks again!

At first I thought maybe these were going to be looted battlesuits to use with an Ork army. I've never seen the gritty paint style with Tau before so it looks a little strange but more power to you for going after a unique look.

Hmm, the idea of the looted battlesuits is interesting indeed!!

I like the colour scheme that you have given the tau, there needs to be more darker tau in my opinion
But i believethe battlesuit with the multiple missile pods on his arms looks a bit messy and that there is too much going on. Overall i like the colour scheme but i think you might need to tone it down on the battle damage a bit
