Well here I am posting my first ever blog, and my first pictures of models that I've painted, ever!

Anyways, I have had a large batch of Empire models that I've always wanted to paint and I've finally decided on a scheme. Looking through the Empire Army Book (7th&8th ed) I fell in love with the lore from Stirland. I really like that they aren't a very wealthy province, kind of beat up uniforms (if you can call them that). It allows me to also bring a bunch of models to the table; Archers, Crossbows, Halberds, Free Company for starters. Being bordered with Nuln I can bring Firearms and Artillery on occasion as well. Stirland also has its own Knightly Order Chapter House, Sigmar following so I really have limitless potential to what I can Include in the army.

So being that I'll be pulling from both Nuln and Stirland and using Free Company, State Troops etc, I decided to find a unifying color to tie the whole army together outside of the Green/Yellow of Stirland.

I went with a Mechrite Red, Highlighted with Wazdakka Red. I use it in a minor capacity like feathers, rope etc.

Anyways without rambling on to much I've done up a couple of test models, crossbows and a Halberdier to look at the color scheme and so far I really like it.

I also painted up a Demigryph because not only do I love the model but I have had ridiculous amounts of success with them and find them as a must take in most of my lists.

Let me guys know what you think, and i'll keep updating it as I make more and more progress on the army. Enjoy!

I've been needing to add a light box so that I can upgrade the picture quality. Here's what I have so far

Pretty simple idea, just a 2x2 piece of wood cut into 4 sections. A little bit of Gorilla glue and some sealant and there you have it. Next step is to decide whether to line it with a white cloth or if paint would be a better option.
Let me know what you think.

More models tonight, hopefully in the new box!
