Hi there.

Since I don't think that kind of thing has been done before, at least not using Roll20, I'm going to post here, maybe some of you will find it interesting. I'm managing an online Warhammer 40k community, using Roll20 to play online games. Since the Roll20 normal community is more focused on RPG games, like D&D, Pathfinder, or Dark Heresy if we want to talk about 40k, I started making battle reports, fairly simple, so that even someone that doesn't know anything about the game could understand what happened. I figured since I posted on the forums to get some help, I might aswell share those here as well, maybe that will be interesting to some of you, since it's not something that is done all that often.

Just a few warnings : I'm not a native english speaker, so my english is pretty rough. I make a lot of mistakes, and I hope it's not too bad to ruin your enjoyment of the battle reports. As I already said, the battle reports were made to introduce the game to people that might have never heard about 40k before, or heard of it but had no idea of what it actually was, so it's very simplified. And finally, the level of the player is usually very casual, since most of our players are really not focused on competitive play, and just tend to play whatever they want. A lot of them are very new to the game, so there might even be some mistakes with the rules, even though overall I try to keep it tight.

So, here we go, here are the battle reports I've done so far :

Feb 2014 : Tyranids - Space Marines

Here it is. I hope you guys like these, I'd love you to give me some feedback, since most of what I've got so far was from people that didn't know a whole lot about the game, and if you're interested in playing some pretty casual 40k online, we'd love you to join us on Roll20 !

Also, if you've never heard of Roll20 before, well this is your chance, since most wargame players have tendencies of also being into RPG games.

Just as a heads up since it always come up, YES, I know Vassal exists, I'm actually one of the guys making the sprites for it. Fact is that the Vassal engine is buggy, the UI is counter intuitive, and the community surrounding it is very very small. Roll20's engine and UI, even though they were not made to support wargames AT ALL, are way better than Vassal in pretty much every way. Porting the whole system to Roll20 is a work in progress, some units are still missing, not all the newest codex are completely done, right now I'm working on the tyranids, but it's still very playable and enjoyable.
I'm actually getting help from people here to make the newest units, you can check out the images I've posted of my work here :
