Subject: zhadsnark‘ da rippa’ the good, the bad, the orky
They tried to improve the wording for his tank shock ability, but failed to note one key issue. What happens when he rams?
when he tank shocks, he's treated as a tank and ram is a special type of tank shock that all tanks are allowed to make. Does he just get into b2b with a vehicle, then assault as normal during the assault phase? or how do we actually try and resolve the ram?
Since they moved his tank shock to the shooting phase, and he grants scouts to his bikers, he should then be able to infiltrate onto the table, then "tank shock" a unit, not assault them. then if the unit causes a wound they get locked in combat during the shooting phase and can fight as normal during the assault phase.
He can move 12-24" during a turbo boost to make the tank shock, and the unit of bikes I'd put him with can turbo boost 12, so as long as snarky doesn't break coherency he should be able to tank shock while part of a unit. then assuming the wound, the whole unit is locked in combat? and since he's tank shocking, not declaring an assault, no overwatch shots
I put this under tactica so we can discuss this model and everything he can bring to the table.
I don't want to start with YMDC, as I'd rather try and work through intent first, and see if there are any other issues with him. Then if needed I'll move all the questions there.
So am I reading this right?
what are your thoughts on this guy?
Do you use him, and what roll do you use him in?

He can't ram, he can tank shock. With a tank you don't normally declare "I'm going to tank shock your vehicle and therefore it is a ram" he tank shocks. And you are correct, no overwatch, but death or glory could actually be scarier.

I see what you're saying. I was thinking more along the lines of "ramming is a special type of tank shock, and is executed the same way"

I'd just take 'em and throw him in a large Nob Biker squad. He grants skilled rider to the squad he's with.
No more dangerous terrain test for the bikers!
A thought has occured to me... doesn't the Exhaust Cloud rule explicitly grant bikers a 4+ coversave??? Would Zhardy's squad have it as 3+ coversave due to Skilled Rider?
If so... hmmmmmmmm.... nob bikers would get a little boost there.

Nope,
the exhaust cloud give a 4+ cover save
Skilled rider gives +1 to the jink save. ie 5+ to 4+

I've used him before, and I have to say that for his points, he doesn't do more than a regular Warboss on a Bike. The Skilled Rider and access to Scout is a nice, but he is really lackluster in CC.
Despite his 4 or 5 I4 S10 AP2 CC attacks, he only has access to a 6+ armour throw, and possibly a 5+ FNP. He just bleeds wounds too fast. I ran him in a Nob Biker unit with a painboy and another Warboss. I just felt that he didn't bring what a regular Warboss did for the same points.
I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

Ah... thanks,
I'd still wanna try out Zhardnik+Nobs Biker with painboy. Go 2nd, then Scout forward to get a good chance to assault on your turn 1. Seems delicious!

Er...you take a painboy with the warbike upgrade and let him join Zhadsnark's unit? Painboy's are ICHQ units now you know...
