So I'm a big Night Lords guy with what I would say a slightly above average painting skill. I've had this army for close to a year now and I am still painting it so I thought I might as well share my work and fluff with people who could appreciate it.

NOTE: I don't have a good camera, so my phone is all I can take pictures with

The 7th Company, "The Abyss Walkers" (points if you get the reference)

Born out of the remnants of the 7th company The Abyss Walkers travel the void raiding any and all imperial worlds they come upon, whether it be for supplies or spite, when they land upon a colony they raze it to the ground in promethium fueled fire. They are spread between 2 ships, The Shadow
and the Nightwolf, both sister ships during the crusade. The Nightwolf originally did belong to the 7th, but The Shadow was taken by force from another Night Lords warband after they left the 7th for dead on a Tyrannid infested world.

They are cold and distant when interacting with their fellow traitors, as they trust no one but themselves, and even this is a strained trust. They maintain that worship to the ruinous powers are forbidden, but the twisting fingers of dissent worm their way into the warriors everyday.

The leadership is split between two brothers; Kor Kardos, the former captain of the 7th, and Talvor Kardos, a sorcerer trained in the arts of biomancy and telepathy. They consider each other the only true friends they have in the world, and if one dies, the warband could collapse within days.

Captain Kor Kardos was born on Nostromo and recruited towards the ending of the Great Crusade. He rose to the rank of captain in the 7th when Kurze ordered the Exterminatus of Nostromo. During the order, the former captain refused to comply with his Primarch's command, and as such Kor put his bolt pistol to the former captain's head and took command. He fought alongside his legion until the death of Kurze, where he then formed a warband out of the remnants of the 7th and fled into the void. Gifted in the art of close combat and void fighting, Kor has led the 7th, now named the "Abyss walkers", on many successful raids and attacks on the imperium of man.

Not a bad start, I enjoyed the little fluff blurb.


I will say that you might want to thin your paints a bit the next time around. They look a tad thick. I would also add some basing material to the base to really make him pop. Overall, I like the colors but think a little extra work would really make it pop!

Yeah I painted a good quarter of my army without thinning, but I learned how recently and will definitely be thinning from now on because it looks a lot better. I'm still new to the painting scene so my previous work might be a little rough. Thanks for the response too, I definitely want to get better.
