Hi guys,
I've bought a lot of Battle Front miniatures before and the resent purchases have left me dry and full of regret.

I play WW2 and Vietnam, and with the Vietnam sale I bought A LOT to finish my air cav, about $400 including the sale... I got the Helicopters in about a week ago and started to work on them. First impression was good since the main body of the chopper is in two pieces so you don’t have to chip out the middle to have a clear hollow inside, but my joy ended there…

The castings are way off and needed a lot of work with the dremel tool to get the two pieces to align correctly and fit smoothly. Then after dremeling them all to hell and gluing them together they leave HUGE gaps where they are supposed to fit flush and look like one piece. These areas are the top of the helicopter where the windows meet the body, the tail and the bottom of the hull where the doors go. One was so mis-cast the bottom half was about 4mm shallower than the rest of the hull. Plus the top half of the hull looks like the molds moved and left a huge mold block (lack of better words) that needed to be dremeled down to look clean.

The quality of the plastic is brittle compared to the older Choppers that I own. In the process of cutting out one of the rotors, I use clippers and flat surfaces when using the hobby knife, I snapped one of the rotter pillars in multiple pieces and unable to repair. Then when I was gluing another one together the actual rotor blade itself snapped at the mounting point.

The Pewter is another sad story, it too has huge gaps after gluing that too needs to be green stuffed and filled to get to fit and look clean.

To end this, I finally got one complete after piles of green stuff, pins, and lots of cleaning and glue. Got to the last part of putting the last tail pieces on and glue the rear rotor and that’s when I found out all the pewter pieces for the back are missing. In other words they were not packed in with everything else. At first I thought I lost it until I noticed ALL 8 Slicks and 2 hogs are missing them…
Is this just my bad luck or have you guys had similar bad experiences?

I recently ordered some heles for the vietnam sale, but I don't think I've had any bad castings like yours. I do have 2 more slicks to put together....

Can you post some pics of them? Also, I've had good experience with battlefront's customer service.

I have to say that, sadly, Battlefront tends to have major quality issues.

I would take a few pictures and email their customer support. They're usually pretty good about replacing damaged parts.
