So I've decided to build up a mechanized wraithguard army, but I'm trying to figure out what I should do as far as painting and back story and I'm stuck between three ideas.

1) Saim Hann: GW loves painting wraithguard red, and they do look good in the color. Also the masters of the mechanized warfare in the background. Can still get Wraithtroops with a spiritseer.

2) Iyanden: The undead elder! Certainly the obvious choice for a wraith army. I have no idea how the Iyanden supplement rules work or if they're worth running.

3) Homebrew/ Other: Am I missing something? I've also got a full squad of Shadow Spectres, so the easy idea would be to do Mymeara, but I could also just make up my own. Gotta tread lightly here as it would be easy to say 'This craftworld has the best of EVERYTHING!!!11! We always win!!'

So I open it up to you dakka! What are your thoughts?

One of them filthy casuals...

Saim Hann. The fluff would fit this army perfectly.

Iyanden. Wraithguard en masse is their shtick after all. Just get yellow spray paint to speed up painting them.

Iyanden.

While Yme'Loc and Saim Hann are known for their vehicles and skimmers respectively, I feel the inclusion of so many Wraith units almost screams Iyanden over the others. The rest don't have the need or will to use that much 'necromancy' for a single battle.

Do you like painting yellow?

I say just pick a scheme you like, if not one of the 'big' craftworlds then make up your own. You can basically pick whatever you want and make it work with Eldar.

Although the craftworlds are 'famous' for a particular thing (Biel Tan - Aspect Warriors, Ulthwe - Seers, Alaitoc - Rangers, Saim Hainn - Jetbikes and skimmers, Iyanden - Wraith warriors) They all use all types of warfare so don't feel like you have to do Iyanden if making a Ghost army.
