Five stegs and a bastilidon? That's a pretty epic monster mash! Nice to see you can still do such things with the new book.

Let us know how well it works!

Thanks for the reply! Im just getting back into fantasy after strictly going 40k for a bunch of years. Im almost up to date on all the 8th edition tactics(steadfast,hordes,etc..). And im not too sure the list has all the tools it needs but i figured what the hell dinosaurs are awesome and i want to start taking advantage of all the local fantasy tournaments springing up lately. Playtesting/pickup games will commence soon

You need to find room to make your Slann the BSB and give him standard of discipline so you have a Ld 10 general and re rolls. If he takes the channelling staff plus convergence he can generate a few more dice each phase.

I'd trade one of the skink chiefs for a lvl1 priest, give him the dispel scroll, take beasts and default to Wildform.

The 17 strong skirmisher unit should be trimmed slightly. Find a way to make that two units of 10.

Otherwise it's a cool list! You'll have plenty of fun with it.

Doesnt the steg ancient mount for the skink priests have to have the engine of the gods?

I dont think so... Haha at least army builder gives you the option. If you take a Priest on one it does

Pretty sure you are right with this point.

Except he has 2 skink cheifs, not preists.

Regarding the list, as good as it is, i would consider a scarvet on carnosaur for variety.

Who doesn't want a hero, who is a dinosaur, riding into battle on a t-rex!?

All anyone wants in the world is to be accepted. Except me, i don't give a S%@t.

Quick question. Ive read the rules but i just want to be sure. To put the slann in a skink skirmishers unit he would have to be just to the side of the front rank since his 50mm doesnt evenly fit (even in a skirmish unit) inside a unit of 20mm's right? And if so does he still get LOS?

yes a slan gets LOS from being an infantry model the size of a base has nothing to do with LOS only shere they are placed when they join a unit.

Quick thought: what if you dropped the Slann and ran an Old Blood on a Caurnosaur?
You could make a Skink Chief your BSB, and run a Priest on a Steg. with the Engine and a Scroll...

My thoughts exactly, how many points is Kroq-Gar these days? less than the 625 limit?

fits the theme and play style for the army.

If you want to run the Slann without Temple Guard, the Ethereal Discipline is better. Despite not being able to join a unit of Skinks, it's easy to screen them with a unit or two of Skirmishers.

A Carnosaur is also a good alternative. Better still would be Tehenhuain on an Engine. Beast magic can buff your other Stegadons very well. Also, Tehenhuain is a Lord choice, for even more Stegadons in the list!

Also, I found found the Egg to be unimpressive, I wouldn't take it. I would suggest the Iron Curse Icon. You are going to deal with cannons for at least one of the Chiefs.

Saurus are always nice, but I feel they are too slow to be of any use. While they are filling up the minimum core percent, a Cohort unit with Kroxigor can cost the same (if not more) and will keep pace with the rest of the army. I have the same point about the Bastiladon. It's only M4. I think that a unit of Terradons or Ripperdactlys would suit the list better; to go after war machines or protect a flank.

I am all for Stegadon lists. I used one last edition and army book and it was so much fun.

I disagree, the egg is tonnes of fun and maybe do something worthwhile! At least it will do more then ironcurse icon (6+ ward FTL) on 1 steg.

Best of luck with the dino rampage!

The Egg is what, 30pts? Compared to the Icon, which is 5. I'd much rather see some further protective gear + an Icon than the Egg. That thing is pretty unreliable.
And besides, you run the Egg on a Chief riding a Terradon or such, not a Stegadon, right?
