Hi guys, I'm trying to paint up this horde army very quickly to tabletop standard, and figured I would take a couple of pics along the way with this batch (the whole thing - bar drying time of wash/blood/base) takes about 1 - 1.5 hours per ten.

1. I use some Vallejo, some Tamiya etc. I will mention it

2. Prime the chaps grey (I use modelmate grey spray)
(forgot to photo that)

3. Use a tank brush and paint them with Vallejo red leather

3. Wet brush Vallejo Dark Red

4. Lightly drybrush Vallejo German Orange and paint tongues same colour

5. Paint the horns with Vallejo German Grey

6. Paint the Swords/Metallic bits in Lead Belcher

7. Highlight Lead belcher with Iron breaker

8. Paint Eyes bright green (I use scorpion) and teeth bleached bone

9. Wash all over with Agrax Earthshade

10. Glaze metalics and tongues with watered down Nihilakh oxide (about 30% water)

11. Paint Base top in evil sunz scarlet, and use Tamiya clear red to sweep blood across the blades

12. Apply Agrellan Earth to the base (this stuff works much better the older the pot gets - i.e. as it dries out a little)

13. Dry brush the base with bleached bone, add arid static grass, and paint the edge black - done!

Obviously you could change the skin tones, use a different wash, or paint the metallics after the wash for brighter weapons etc. etc. but its a quick method for rank and file!

Cheers!

Why are you using clear red? Blood for the blood god paint is MILES better than tamiya's offering.

Ive tried it, an clear red looks much more like blood to me! Blood for the blood good looks like glossy old blood red paint

Yep, clear red is the superior finished article, although BFTBG does score a few bonus points for being easier to work with and more accessible in the UK.

Even when my GW pot of clear red didn't dry, the citadel paint looked more wet and sticky than it.

Any modelling store will have some of the Tamiya range.
