So far, I have the following models:

2 x Leman Russ Battle Tanks (all options magnetized)
2 x Leman Russ Demolishers (all options magnetized)
2 Wyverns
1 x Chimera
36 x Shock troops (6 w/plasma and 3 w/melta)
1 Commissar Yarrick
1 Lord Commissar

I'm planning on spending another $200-$300 on models. What do you guys suggest?

2 more Russes 2 more Wyverns 2 Chimeras (though Taurox is the better option) and a Deathstrike would be my advice. This is what I'd build

Pask: Vanquisher w/ lascannon & MMs & Relic plating
- 2 Executioners: PCs

Tank Commander: Vanquisher w/ lascannon & MMs & Relic plating
- 2 Exterminators: Lascannons & HBs

Vets: 3 plasmaguns, Chimera
Vets: 3 plasmaguns, Chimera
Vets: 3 Meltas, Chimera

Deathstrike
2 Wyverns
2 Wyverns

That is about 1850-2k depending on exact upgrades and is a solid base from what you've got. 6 Russes all but 1 being twinlinked on the main cannon will put out a lot of hurt and take plenty. Vets are mobile and offer support. Wyverns kill infantry for fun and the Deathstrike gives you a turn 2 demolition strike to gut your opponents army. Your only real issue would be AA. Switching to Taurox would help with that and picking up a Psyker.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

I will definitely get more Chimeras, but I was thinking about getting some more troops and making a blob. I am curious, why does everyone think the Taurox are so good? With all the S 5 and 6 floating around AV 12 is going to come in real handy.

Because there's lots of S7 around which makes AV12 not a huge use. You've still git side armour 10 which again causes problems. Basically neither vehicle is tough. The Taurox is cheaper has a better gun and more fire points. It can also take advantage of terrain better. This makes it over all the better choice.

Somewhere in warp space

I would suggest a Vendetta, 2 Chimeras, a Manticore/Deathstrike and 3 Armoured Sentinels, that comes to $280, gives you transport for the veterans, antiair in the Vendetta, area denial/antihoard in the missile launchers and cheap antitank in the sentinels. Also, I would probably suggest getting Pask for one of the tanks as he seems too good to ignore in the new book.

Figure out which one you like more. Most people I've talked to, there's a tread about it going around, side with the old chimera. So just figure out what you want and what you can make work. For what its worth my vote goes with the chimera.

I'd buy more troops and heavy weapons, plus Sentinels.

Just to kind of round out your army a bit and give you some options to play around with.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

After looking atthe new codex, you either have to go mech or blob. Seems that way to me. Sort of has always been that way. You can can go hybrid, but HQ selection seems to make you go one way or the other.

I have run mech/vets in the past. Two special weapons is all you really need now with te change in chimera rules. Heavy flamer as a third choice, to help when te transports get assaulted.

I'm sold on Wyverns being god. Not a fan of the taurox. Cheaper, yes. But, does not survive, plus looks odd next to other vehicles. I'm not making a judgement on scale, just looks odd nest to other IG/AM kits.

Valks/vendettas are always a good choice.
