What would you bring as your nastiest list?
I ask because i want to know all of what i might be going up against

Something built around a Trans Ctan, my experience is that, if used well, hes an absolute wrecking machine and Crons are a solid army anyways.

A revenant on a skyshield with a farseer casting prescience on it.

Because a 4++ with reroll, followed by another 4+, on a titan is a good idea. If it's double org chart, you can add some void shields, just for the sake of stupidity.

Troops just be 2 squads of jetbikes?

If only. Revenant + skyshield + 3 void shields generator + farseer should be something around 1400 pts (rough estimate on top of my head). So you still have 500 points of jetbikes floating around.

2 Thunderhawks w/ Turbo Lasers, Tigurius, Librarian, x4 Scout Squads. 2K on the dot.

I just attended an event just like this last weekend. Here is what I took and went 2-0-1 and took 2nd place:

Autarch
3 x 3 Jetbikes (maybe 4 squads, can't remember)
1 x 1 Crimson Hunter w/ Exarch
3 x 3 War Walkers w/ 18 Brightlances
1 x 1 Revenant Titan

Overall, kinda tame but I dropped a Reaver Titan on turn 1 of a game, which led to me tabling my opponent by turn 3.

The winning list was roughly the following:

Farseer
Vect
Coteaz
2 x 10 Guardians, Brightlance
2 x 3 Eldar Jetbikes
1 x 5 Kabalite Warriors
1 x 1 Revenant Titan
1 x Void Shield Generator w/ 3 Void Shields

Other armies:

Reaver Titan
IG/Warhound/Imperial Knight
Chaos Flying Demon Circus (took 3rd place)
Necrons w/ Trans. C'Tan
Tyranids
O'Vesa-Star (was playing for top table until he ran into the Revenant/Coteaz/Vect combo
3-4 Imperial Knights w/ a Warhound Titan


There were 14 total armies and a pretty good variety. However, the Revenant/Vect/Coteaz combo was dirty and hit super hard.

Assuming because it went first majority of games.

Double Force Org. All boyz squads are shootas with 3x Big Shootas. 75 points left over for a couple of Nobs with power claws or big choppas. 272 boyz n meks. Because feth you and your goddam wave serpents.

Played with a WS spam list at tourney last year at 1850. He had about 220 boys on the table. On a 6x4 it literally came down to having very little space/areas to manouvure in or too. Eventually most of the WS's got caught in hth and rear armor is still rear armor.
Just couldnt put out enough shots to kill them all and lost on objective control.

Only difference is that this tourneys everythings allowed and along with wave serpents I have 4 S: D large blasts

I don't mind taking 20-30 boys off the table in a turn when I have 272!

I'm looking into Throne of Skulls this year, and a lot of this comes down to money and what armies I can physically afford. I came up with this for 1500pts:

Do remember, D weapons kil av 14 just as easy as av 10, and theres gonna be allot of D weapons

Space Marines. I'd definitely have a devastator squad with plasma cannons supported by a buffmander (twice, at 2k!) and probably a Centurion star supported by Tigurius. Either that or make it a Tau-primary list and run a Farsight bomb supported by Tigurius (either way, I'm angling for Gate of Infinity).

In any event, good times, good times.

Deathstars are at high risk in games with shooting Str-D on the table.

Cant have 2 buffmanders in any amount of points. Special issue wargear.

Also those super expensive deathstars get wiped in one shot from d weapons, which is what basically every army is going to have.

So? I beef up the rest of my army with AA from other things. And those flyers cant really do anything can they?

One thing to remember with death-star / Strength D lists is that they are:
a) Very low in model count
b) Vulnerable to melta spam
c) Unable to engage a large number of targets
d) Mostly tied up in non-contesting units
e) A large amount (all?) Strength D weapons are Blast and therefore cannot hurt fliers.

Deathstar units are trumped by Strength D weapons. Seercouncil vs 1 SD blast? gone.

However, you can run MSU, especially melta MSU.

Running something like:
Farseer
6x 3 Jetbikes
Farseer
6x 3 Jetbikes
Revenant Titan
Void Shield Generator
Something else a little shooty

The jetbikes are relatively durable and can do a small amount of damage to whatever token troops the enemy takes, but importantly can turbo-boost around and get cover / stay out of LOS of his big guns.
You have enough units on the board that are relatively durable, enough protection on your Revenant titan that you can probably survive going second.
You will most likely win the objective game, and be able to score line breaker, and your revenant can damage/kill any deathstars or lords of war.

Other good armies:
Tyranid flying army:
Taking 9 FMC's gives you a force which is difficult to deal with even with a full 2000pt army, let alone a 'crippled' one with 50% of points points tied up in Strength D Blast lords of war which cannot harm flyers.
