So, my FLGS has two of the apocalypse templates boxes (the box with the three blue ones) available at retail value (= €20,-). Is it worth it to get one of these, or is it likely that the rumoured upcoming not-7th edition will make them obsolete?

1400 points of EW/MW Italians (FoW)
2200 points of SoB and Inquisition (40K)
1000 points of orks (40K)
Just starting out with Ultramarines (30K)
Four 1000-2500 point forces for WHFB (RIP)
One orc team (Blood Bowl)

If anything, the upcoming not-7th edition will make them legal.

I think GW wants to sell the big kits, so they are going to make, not the 7th edition homogenous, so everything and anything.

So you just might need them. I don't have them and thinking I should pick some up now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Those templates are no longer for sale by GW (stupid limited release templates) so I'd scoop them up, even if there is no plan to use them in the near future.

That's my biggest concern: that in the 'next' edition, template sizes will slightly change like they did with Apocalypse I > Apocalypse II, and that the blue ones will become useless.
