well here it goes.
im a pretty big lizard fan. i love reptiles, and have a few as pets. recently my first lizard pet, a chinese water dragon named tannis, died. (tragic i know) - i was pretty choked about it... as he was only 3 years old. that said - i decided the best way to honor the memory of y fallen friend (literally - he died trying to jump from curtain top to lamp - missed...failed ward save and took massive falling damage :( ) was to paint an army in his image, as a sort of omage.
combined with a recent financial windfall, and given that most whfb kits are still somewhat moderatly priced, i picked up a bunch of stuff.
for starters, i grabbed a battleforce, and a carnosaur kit. out of this, i was able to make an oldone on foot, a skink priest on foot, and the big monster himself. (wich i will likley use a cold one rider from the battleforce, blinged up to make a scar vet to ride him)
first, i wont bother posting images of the assembly im pretty sure everyone has seen and or built models here. especially battleforce lizzies. instead, ill focus on the painting end, and my bases wich i intend to be tropical swamp/aqautic. themed. im giving them a pretty good height boost, so i **may** run into some people who dont like that, but i find that adding some height to a models base in whfb is less impactful then in 40k. as its more of the posistion of the minature/unit that matters, not really its height.
anyway ill get to the basing, and add some photos when i can get my camera workig. i need a new sd card and cable wich ill grab tomorrow.
- color sceme of the entire army will be based off this picture. (not mine, but the closest i could find that matched the little guy) so a bright green with hints of yellow, and pink around the edges, and a white belly. they also have black striping along the tails, and white on their backs. i figure this scheme will work awsome on all size models, and it will be the size and equipment that set them apart as characters, and so on. more pics will be added tomorrow.

may 13 update:
ive included a series of shots of my stage by stage painting of the saurus. since im doing the entire army in this sceme i wanted something that looked natural, blended nice and was fairly easy to acomplish in a minimal number of steps. - since im painting probally close to 40 saurus, and who knows how many other models. anyway the pics here are of my first, "test" job. the rest of the unit will be done and worked on over the course of the next few days. (its starting off around 20 or so strong) at the moment i have 10 done, sans shields, inc the command group. i decided to paint the the shields seperate, simply because i did not want any blue mistakes on the main model, and it allowed me to paint the arms and back easier.
and yes some pics are sideways because it was easier to show the partiular view that way. - and with all these pics diffirent angles and such makes it less monotonous.
next up some shots of the 2 characters im working on.
