I thought it would be a good idea to get together and list some things in the BRB (NOT Codices) that need clearing up. So go ahead guys, I'll try to put them in the OP. No GW hate in this thread please, be nice

- Are we really supposed to be able to take allies as Combined Arms detachments?
- Can models hit models locked in a challenge, even if they can't wound them?
- Are Troop dedicated transports supposed to be superscoring?
- Do barrage/blasts now hit all floors of a ruin?

I want to know if psykers locked in close combat can manifest shooting powers, as far as I can tell there are no restrictions against it

Witchfire page 27.

'...cannot be locked in combat if he (GW sexist) wishes to manifest a witchfire power'

RAW reading of this is a female Psyker can shoot out of combat.

I fully support female psykers being superior to male ones.

I'd like to know if it's possible to a codex and a supplement share the same CAD, letting relics being mixed up (Burning Blade and Gorgon's Chain in the same model, or one mode with shield eternal and another with gorgon's chain, but both in the same CAD). Which Warlord Traits table can be rolled on?

Spoletta wrote:

before, because you only resolve a power after its attempt to be cast and the DtW. There's a rule about a power being resolved even if the psyker dies to perils - which are resolved before DtW attempts.

Not sure on the first point.

The way assault is worded, generating rolls of "to hit" simply says must be in base contact with an enemy model or 2" away from a friendly model in base contact with an enemy model. This includes challenges, since it does NOT say ANYWHERE to ignore the challenge EXCEPT when allocating wounds, which is in the Challenge section not the Fight Subphase.
And in the Challenge section is says excess wounds that have nobody to wound outside the challenging characters, still hurt the challenging character. So challenging a big bug literally just means he has to focus your character before he hits anything else. Yes his attacks spill over, but given the situation you might waste some of his attacks either with matched WS or an invul save your other units dont have. Or higher toughness.

Dedicated transports are taken as whatever slot they were bought for. Thus, buying a Trukk for my Nobz makes it an Elite choice, but buying it for my Boyz makes it a Troop. So yes, troop transports will have the super scoring rule as they are troops.

As for the last one, right now im saying yes reluctantly because thats kinda huge. There is no mention in the entire book about multi-leveled terrain outside the coherency, which i think increased since its 6" vertically and i coulda sworn it was 4". That is the only entry ive seen regarding levels. And the Barrage entry excludes the "Only hits top level of a multi-leveled terrain piece" bit. So no more hiding under a floor from basilisks. Dafuq lol.

This reminds me of a tournament I was in where my opponent tried to say my warlord Celestine (WD codex) couldn't use her warlord trait from the BRB because it said His, not Hers.

Can you say, "Ultimate That Guy" right there? lol.
If i was the TO i would have penalized that guy for being that big of a stickler/jackass lol. Female models are soooooo rare in this game, thats why everything says His/Him/He

TO ruled in my favor, and the guy got docked sportsmanship. The look the TO gave was priceless, it was a "what the hell are you trying to pull?" kind of face to him. His space wolves got burned by my serephim.

Good, guys like that is what makes 40k unfun to play. Closest i am to that is i know the rules very well including ones most people dont usually acknowledge exist. But i remind my opponent of them more than i use them myself. I know the rules to play fair, not cheat a victory by strictly RAW even if it makes 0 sense, but still written that way.
RAW he was right, his not her, so thats the perfect example of what i mean by i dont play strictly RAW lol

No because all the combined arms detachments have to be from the same army. Ally detachments are what you use for the Allies.

No, a detachment has to be composed of units of the same faction, but nothing stops my DA to get a second FOC of GK.

Would be nice to know when my Codex:MT will get its FAQ to fix the inconsistent stat entries, the lack of point cost to buy camo cloaks, the broken warlord trait, etc lol

And yeah waiting for alot of FAQ concerning GKs and psychic powers. Assuming for now just play as in 6th with Libby/Inquis able to trade and everyone else stuck with their powers. Common sense lends that they replace each GK power with the appropriate Sanctic one and the Force power. But who knows.

Well the BRB says when someone has a force weapon they automatically know the force power, and it activates the whole squad, so not too bad for them i guess! Also which warlord power do you mean for MT? The only one i know for sure from that book was that Hot Shot Volley guns have gets hot for no reason and its not mentioned anywhere else

Meh I mean good to know their Force weapons are still functional, but I find having to take the force test in the psychic phase before you even shoot or assault is a nerf. Not to mention you can deny it now (albeit on 6's but still). And GK already affected the unit when you passed the test and happened soon as you had 1 unsaved wound and worked the rest of the assault phase. I am sure 90% of the time you will in range for a guaranteed charge that you will want to use the force weapons in before you cast Force, but still it is a game of random dice.

The one that only works on the Warlords platoon. Platoons not actually being an option in the MT book.

There is that warlord trait (units from the warlords platoon) which MT has no platoons.

The Tempestor Prime is Int 4 in one listing and Int 3 in other.

Taurox Prime could take Camo Cloaks in the WD, can take Camo Cloaks in the C:AM, and Camo cloaks are described in C:MT but aren't listed with a point cost in the vehicle upgrade list. So you have no way to buy them.

Hot Shot Volley Gun has no Gets Hot in C:AM, but one entry in C:MT has Gets Hot! while the reference listing does not.

Hah! I nevner noticed it said platoon! Some of the rules aways struck me as they just separated them from the AM codex at the last minute and copy pasted some rules (although that twinlinking order is extra hawt with 4 meltas!)
