Ok, this is a sci fi space movie from the mid- late 70s. There was a large space ship with several agro domes for plants, had like small forests or jungles on them. There was a handful of humans, I remember them racing gocarts in the passage ways. There were also several small robots that looked a lot like the little blue "gonk" droid from starwars. One of the humans kills the other humans and is living with the robots as he considers them friends. He ends up running one of them over with a cart and try's to save it but it can't be fixed. He commands the other robot to take care of the forest, and seperated the some from the ship, then commits suicide by blowing up the main ship.

Any of you old timers remember the name of this movie?

That's Silent Running starring Bruce Dern. A sorta classic that hasn't aged that well, imho.

Yup. Silent runing, several interior shots were filmed INSIDE a USN aircraft CARRIER. The "hippy" overtones of the time haven't aged well - but the acting and effects are still pretty good for their time.

Oh, and footage of the Valley Forge (the name of the ship in the movie) also got reused as an agro ship in the old series of Battlestar Galactica in 1978, too.
