This is how to take good miniatures photos with your Smart Phone.
In this case we use an iPhone.
What you need:
1. Black paper the largest you can find.
2. Two pieces of white cardstock
3. Two pieces of tape
4. A window
Directions to setup your mini studio facing your table with the window behind you:
1. "Sweep" the black paper (or best Medium Gray paper) with two pieces of tape in the front edge and a little box behind to lift up the background.
2. Fold two pieces of cardstock into "V" shape
3. Arrange V cards and iPhone in front of your minis.
4. Snap a shot.
****TIPS****
The closer and lower the iPhone lens is to your minis the more epic they will look. Unfortunatley the focus point will not capture everything that sharp, so back off a little bit.
Snap a bunch of shots with different focus points and edit the best pic you like.
In this instance the light was diffused back light, not sunlight. You still get lens flare either way, but you can use that to your advantage.
Crop your snaps right up to the models feet
Flip the iPhone upside down or whatever way you want you can even get the lens 1/2 " above the surface because it's located in the corner of the phone.
You need to "fool" the camera phone into thinking it has a perfectly exposed shot. When you shoot on white paper your minis may look dark, or black they are "blown out white", try composing your shot and LOOK at how the camera is estimating the exposure value.
