Sword dude's pretty cool, but to be honest I don't need more Space Marines...

However, if someone would finally make great looking counts-as Sisters I'd buy them by the handful.

From the concept art, it looks like they'll have factions beyond just Space Marines. Seems to be a lizard/ork faction, a robotic faction, and a magical elf/eldar faction.

I'm personally excited for the magical space-elf-looking race for obvious reasons.

Runnin up on ya.

So, basically two video game designers are making a not-40k miniature game....color me interested. Is it odd that I find it amusing that the lead guy worked for Blizzard? (Though it's a shame he didn't work on starcraft).

And...3d print:

And a painted 3d print:

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

I'm surprised it has taken somebody so long to try this. In my opinion, these Space Marines are already aesthetically far better than the GW equivalents.

I wish them luck. If they are using a reputable injection mold company (renedra or WGF), this could be huge.

These guys almost look like they can move around while still mostly keeping GW aesthetics.

Mother of God...

I'm not interested in yet another game, but if the miniatures truly are low cost $1-1.50 range per figure they could make a killing selling them to 40K players.

I looked at that first render's shoulderpads and thought it looked very Blizzard- like. I'm okay with that.

You give me some low cost, dirt cheap plastic spacemen and scifi lizard types, I'd make the jump from buying predominantly fantasy to actually grabbing some scifi stuff.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I sent them an email asking what sort of plastic they're going to be using - HIPS, ABS, or something else, and I'll post back here if I get an answer. Hopefully this isn't another line of restic gak.

They mention that it's plastic on sprue, so I guess I just assumed polystyrene.

It'd be great to have confirmation.

That's good - I was just looking at the pictures, and thought the second one in the OP looked like it was designed for a more rubbery plastic. In hindsight, they probably just slice it up differently when it's time to start machining sprues.

I also suggested that adding some alternate heads to the sprues for the crested aliens could be a good idea - they wouldn't take up much space, and would mean one sprue would sell to both the humanoid aliens fans and the sci-fi women fans. As dual kits go, heads for both humans and near-human aliens would give a lot of bang for their buck.

Good on you Alex for emailing them. This is exactly what I was wondering, too, given how expensive it is to make the molds for hard plastic.

It's only teaser days for this project, but the website still looks extremely sparse. I'm not seeing a reason to trust in this project yet, but I hope to be convinced.

It seems like their aesthetic is closer to Warzone's than Warhammer's, but I'm interested to see where it goes. More people making cool models can only be a good thing.
