Just had an idea...

If anyone has any games they would like me to play out / report on over the next few weeks, I can endeavour to do so.

The games will be almost entirely proxied, but will hopefully give an insight into the strengths of lists these days.

I will not be playing maelstrom missions.

Other than that - anything goes.

Leave requests/lists/ideas below, and I'll get on them ASAP.

First game:
Crons 1850:
CAD 1:
Overlord w. weave, phase shifter, mindshackle, warscythe, CCB - 255pts

5 warriors in scythe - 165pts
5 warriors in scythe - 165pts

6 wraiths w, 1 whip coil - 220pts

Annihilation Barge - 90pts
Annihilation Barge - 90pts
Annihilation Barge - 90pts

CAD 2:
Destroyer Lord w. res orb - 155pts

5 warriors in scythe - 165pts
5 immortals in scythe - 185pts

Annihilation Barge - 90pts
Annihilation Barge - 90pts
Annihilation Barge - 90pts

1850 Daemon Factory list:
CAD 1:
Fateweaver - 300pts
4 heralds of tzeentch w. ML3, one portaglyph - 410pts

18x Pink Horrors - 162pts
11x Pink Horrors - 99pts

CAD 2:
Be'Lakor - 350pts
Daemon Prince of Slaanesh w. ML3, 2x greater, wings, armour - 330pts

2x (11x pink horrors) - 198pts

First game here: http://taccyg.blogspot.co.uk/

Anyone got any requests???

Cheers,

-TG

Take more Heralds , in fact Dump the 2nd Daemon Prince completely and take 3 More Heralds and more Pink Horrors.

7 Heralds is 21 Warp Charge alone. and 21 chances to roll on the chart. It's insane. With combined arms the army breaks.

Stick them each in a squad of 12 to 13 Pink Horrors, Enjoy having 35 Warp Charge a turn just from them.

I think you're miscounting. 21 power dice from the Heralds and 14 from the 7 units of Horrors?

I'm pretty sure that as written and with no FAQ to address it, Horror units generate exactly one power die regardless of how big the unit is. Power dice are generated by counting Mastery Levels and adding 1D6. A unit of Horrors (or any unit with Brotherhood of Sorcerers/Psykers) is ML1 unless specified otherwise. The 'Magic Made Manifest' rule says to add Warp Charge points as the unit gets bigger. Warp Charge points do nothing in this edition.

We're also missing an update to the Daemon of Tzeentch rule that gives +3 Ld for Psychic checks, which is also useless for now.

EDIT: I just looked this up again and I was wrong. The dice in the pool are referred to in the BRB as 'Warp Charge Points' in the 'Resolving the Psychic Phase' section of the rulebook (page 392 of the digital version)

The princes are there for several reasons:
1) Give me AA.
2) Give me early game AT.
3) Give me a summoning platform in the enemy deployment zone early on.
4) Give me a more durable summoning platform.

I believe that they round out the list better, because they have non-psychic damage potential, and can still summon/sacrifice well.

Will be interested to see what happens with 2 good lists, will it be a video batrep or written?

Written, I'm afraid, and it will be proxied to the ends of the earth...
That's the problem with working on a student's budget, I suppose.
I will take lots of pics though, and edit them so it's clear what everything is.
Hopefully the results will be interesting.
I'm glad someone likes my lists, btw

Still open to more suggestions for future games, though. I've got a long and (largely) empty summer ahead of me...

As an aside, I'm working on two different lists: one with a transcendent C'Tan, and the other with Auetvn'kerufsberhfvbefg or whatever the feth the Daemons Tzeentch LOW is.
Would people rather hear about that first? Or is the current match preferred?

Also, for those wondering, I will be playing that chariots can join units, and that the phase shifter gives the whole chariot a 3++.

Nope, they add the Warp charge.

You could also if you have them go with Heralds of Slaanesh Level 2 with Malefic on chariots , move 12 summon out to 12, then move again in shooting 15 more inches. Put Daemons where ever you want them.

Also Soul Grndrs are insanely good with a 4++ from Cursed Earth and a reroll 1s. Cast invisibility watch them never die.

Ok my proposition for list fixing is thus:
Remove the scribes.
Remove one herald from a 16 man squad.
Move 4 from that squad to the other 16 man squad.
Add another level 3 herald.

Actually that works currently. There's a page in the rulebook that shows a red bordered box of the five steps that are considered "Manifesting a Power". Everything from selecting the psyker to its final resolution is counted as "manifesting", and warp perils are listed in step 3. Therefore, Tzeentch's rule, which adds +3 Leadership specifically "while manifesting psychic powers" would apply throughout the duration of the power manifestation.

In short, you do get +3 Leadership on all your Perils, which may help avoid the negative effects of them. It's not much but it's something.

The 7th Edition FAQ is out!
Pink Horrors can summon.
Daemon Factory is legal!

Kind of expected that. It does actually get faster the more you play it. I can do it and it takes the same length oftime as a normal game at this point. It's just a fething gakload of stuff to keep track of. You almost need a assistant.

Oh that list looks brutal, didn't see the new update with Belakor and Fateweaver.

Yeah 6s to hit doesn't go great with 6s give us extra hits. Also six annihilation barges are brutal. Christ.

I will go ahead and make the prediction if the Daemon Player didn't go first, he got his gak pushed in by the Cron play blasting his flyers with Annibarges.

I wouldn' t be surprised at a complete smash game by either side though. That many Annihilation barges is overkill so.

Meh, hard to say.

I'll go Crons since their my original army , but I've been advocating Daemons for a while now.

Close game. If that necron list loses (even that close) to that daemon list, that daemon list is pretty damn strong. Basically the same 'cron list I saw straightaway too haha.

Yeah that was my thought (probably should have done an analysis...).

The cron list was much, much easier to play, though.

The daemon turns were taking about 1000x as much effort as the cron turns, and I wasn't even being *that* exponential with summoning.
