Love how pissed Obyron looks. Those blue eyes really pop and add to the attitude of the mini.

Nice work

First off all let me say that you have a very original necron army there and I really admire the amount of work you have put into this. There is no easy way to blend, and blending a whole model one at a time is really painstaking and time consuming.

I have shorted out those two pics for a reason. First the cape defines the model much better now that it is a different color than the rest of the model. Second I would try to break up the yellow orange red scheme using some green exactly as the

one on the back of the model in the second pic. Green is the complementary of red so they stick great on your model. Maybe try putting some in the joints so the eye can track the models body more easily. Anyway thats my two cents and

congrats for this great army.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

here's the tutorial I promised, I've got a few more images of the new guys too, coming up!

Heavy Red [4:1] followed by a wash of Red shade [6:1]
Heavy Blue [3:1] then washed with Blue Shade [5:1]

Cleaned with Bloody Red [4:1]
2x Sombre Grey + 2x Magic Blue + 1x Black [5:2]

Large layer of Hot Orange [4:1]
Large layer of Magic Blue [3:1]

Skipped a pic here, sorry! :armata_PDT_04:
Medium layer of Orange Fire [4:1] then small layer of Gold Yelow [3:1]
Medium layer of 1x Magic Blue + 1x Electric Blue [2:1] then Electric Blue [2:1] then highlighted with 1x Electric Blue + 1x Wolf Grey [2:1]

Highlight of Sun Yellow [6:1]
Very marginal highlight of Wold Grey [4:1]

As you can see, a fair few steps

Bases are done with a run of:
Heavy Blue [4:1]
Hexed Lichen [3:1] (just dumped everywhere)
3x Hexed Lichen + 1x Squid Pink [3:1] Thick highlights
Cracks filled with GW Lustrian Undergrowth, then:
Livery Green [2:3]

edit: fixed up the image links

Love the bears just adds that little factor of intimidation to the army.

I love the idea of the Necron with the split head still able to carry on fighting but it doesn't fit in with the exceptionally clean and crisp look of your army.
And that giant hammer looks a bit daft, looks like it's just dumped on their for no reason.
I'm still amazed by your colour blending techniques though!

That's some bright Necrons.

The orange is quite stunning, and up close looks fantastic, but as a full army I think it lacks a little needed contrast. It all just devolves into a mass of orange. I think they need a little more shading into the creases and joints, so that it's easier to see detail from further away.

Really love the orange with the blue detailing, though.

The doom scythe is done!

This time I used a tripod with the camera, and tried the following settings:
Aperture: F16
Shutter: 4 seconds
White balance set to soft white
ISO: 500
Distance: 50cm
I think the photos are infinitely more detailed and better looking, see what you think!

First off can I just say

A first I wasn't too sure. The single miniatures that you had posted just kind of blended into each other and the just seemed to 'blob' together. If you get me?.....

But I perservered and boy am I glad I did, ya see, the single minis are nice, not outstanding but nice. But when you see the army as a whole it all makes sense.... Like a tidal flow of magma with guns.... It's pretty awesome stuff, and when I read that you take 7-8 hours per basic warrior? That damn near blew my mind dude... Great army and awesome looking vehicles. Great job!

amazing how such a simple technique (drybrushing) can bring such amaaaaazing creations. They seriously look like theyre molten hot. So awesome!

EDIT: Actually even more amazing that its Necrons, since theyre usually the army people grab because they scream "Paint me the least!" out of all the races.

Clearly i didnt even think of that when i picked mine (orks) lol but i enjoy painting them anyway.

This is a great, unconventional approach to the 'crons. I really like the pop of color on them, but I am inclined to agree with Gray1378, in that, I'm not crazy about the bases. That being said, they look great. I'd love to see them on a battlefield.
