A typo too good to pass up.

Also, that sounds painful.

Interesting thread. I've never seen a battle foam case in the wild, but it sounds like good stuff. I've committed to the kr multicase system, cos it's cheap, decent quality, and delivery is quick, but I wish they had the customisability (is that a word) of battlefoam. Is the foam soft or rigid? Not a fan of rigid foam for miniatures, but I'm looking for something a bit more robust for my microphones etc.

It's rigid foam. Surprisingly, it works really well on miniatures (I was skeptical until I bought my first bag, many moons ago). Might be a bit pricy for your mics, but I don't know that there is an alternative product with similar specifications.

I dunno - my mic's cost a hell of a lot more than my minis.

I may have to order a sample tray. Then wait by the sound of things...

If you order a standard tray (just to check out the material) it usually ships pretty quick. YMMV.

Though being able to get custom foam for your mics would be pretty sweet.

It takes a long time bud, but one thing you can do is to call them and ask if your foam pieces are in stock. Believe it or not, they don't always have all the foam trays.

They make trays for so many different games that it's probably easier for them to wait on an order or have popular versions more readily available.

Bottom line. Call them and place your order on the phone.

I placed my first order with Battle Foam in February. It was just foam trays as I wanted to try a few out to see what I thought. It arrived about 3 weeks later; which is okay by me. A fair amount of things I order tend to be from smaller companies so I generally expect it to take a month to get to me.

In a word, the foam they use is simply fantastic. My order was for a couple troop trays, another for my DE Reavers and one for my jet fighters. They all fit in perfectly and I'm no longer worried about things breaking. The foam is denser than the regular pluck foam you find in most places. My main complaint about pluck foam was that the spiky things on my models ( and DE have lots of spiky things ) always caught when I would pull them out. Usually something would break. I don't have that issue with the Battle Foam product; so I'm very happy. note: I have NOT used BF's pluck foam. just their regular trays.

They did have a "Road to Adepticon" sale that ran from 3/7 through 4/6. My guess is that your order is simply back logged so just have some patience; it's totally worth it. I have to admit, I should have paid attention to email announcement on the sale. I would have picked up two or three of their 720s.

Regarding response times from cust service.... yeah.. they appear to be more than a little slow. I sent two emails to them a couple weeks ago. It took 2 days to get a response on the easy one; I haven't heard back on the harder of the two emails.(see update below) However, given the quality of the product and the fact that they *are* shipping, even if it's at the speed of a glacier, then I will purchase from them again. Actually, I think I'm going to right now.

**** update***
Well, I feel like a moron. The emails I mentioned that they hadn't responded to... Well, they did. The same day I sent them. I was starting to clean out my spam folder a few minutes ago and saw them. Sorry for the confusion.

They're pluck foam sucks. It's hard to get a perfect shape. Sometimes you unintentionally rip the foam

I've always bought/used sabol designs army transport bags and pluck foam trays - never had one issue with their shipping speed or quality. In fact I still have my first three bags (holding my Dark Angels, Carcharodons, and Chaos). Best value for price IMHO.

I received my first battlefoam bag with my WWX kickstarter stuff. The pluck foam trays seem the same as other brand's pluck foam the same, the pre-cut foam is awesome (one can definitely put more minis in a pre-cut tray as opposed to a pluck foam tray), and the bag seems to be made from a heavier duty, higher quality fabric as compared to the armytransport bags. I'm not very rough on my stuff, but I can see that the BF bag will definitely take more of a beating and still hold up. I guess if one wants a bag to last for a very long time and can afford to spend a bit more, BF is the way to go.

As for customer service I've never dealt with BF one on one before, but the hobby communities voice is probably not wrong. However, I have dealt with the folks at outlaw miniatures (IIRC the companies are/were related somehow). The customer service folks at outlaw miniatures are top notch, so much so that I have started to throw my hobby dollars at them instead of GW.
