I never encounter Tau players that use gun lines or Farsight bomb in 7th. That's just internet tripe as most Tau builds aren't like that.

Most of Tau's hate is because everyone assumes that Tau players are mind readers so they can tell if you'll be using fliers (so will give everything sky fire), will know if you're deepstriking everything (so will use interceptor), will know if you're a horde (so will take HBC Riptides) and know if you're choppy (so will gun line).

Most Tau players, like other players, take all-comers lists and take 1 or 2 (or 0) Riptide squads (see my old thread for the figures).

What I find pathetic is how no one sees GK or SM as cheesy, yet Tau are. GK have the Dreadknight which is just as cheesy as a Riptide. SM have perfect internal balance, just like Tau, but they have chapter tactics and other cheesy stuff, but no one cares about that.

IoM ally armies are the most cheesy, yet no one sees it.

I'm a dark angels and world eaters play and I still think that's well said buddy, my world eaters contemptor with dual grav guns is the bane of my mate's and they think it's cheesy while they run 3 sometimes 4 land raiders, it's swings and roundabouts

Chaos cobtemptors have access to grav guns? Wow i must amhave overlookes that! :O

I'm pretty sure they're different to the Grav guns to the ones in the Space Marines codex. I think they're the ones from the Horus Heresy books that they can take, Graviton guns.

Are tau still considered to be cheesy? Yes by some.

Are tau actually cheesy now 7th edition is here? Not really.

MC/IC rule changes, as well as maelstrom VPs really stopped some of the worst offenses.

Tau are now a solid army, but nothing to complain about (except perhaps for ignore cover being too easy to obtain).

It doesn't matter, by the time they get updated they will be updated so hard that current players won't like the army.

I started 40k with 6th edition Tau, I liked the models so that's the army I started playing. Yes theirs cheese. But most armies have cheese, and TauDar was greatly powerful but that's been taken away and I feel Tau are simply mid tier now. They don't compete on CC, while powerful they have blatent weaknesses, most of all BS3 and out sources of marker lights aren't that tough. Tau play differently than other armies and people don't like adapting to it.

10k+ Tau, Ke'lshan
10k Dark Eldar Kabal of the Flayed skull
1k Scions
