I would run list 1, but I have a real love for Eldar tanks and am building a similar list. But, drop a Cannon or one of the DA Exarchs and add Marksman's Eye to the Crimson Hunter and be able to single out and kill any melta or plasma troops in enemy squads on a 5+. Flying sniper platform, you can't beat the destruction in that and your tanks will thank you for it.

Edited my list, I totally agree the precision shots on 5s are a handy perk, thanks for the feedback!

The way you're running the Farseers at the minute is a waste. You cannot cast anything but witchfires out of transports, so your missing out on guide and doom and misfortune etc...
I would rethink the HQ, imo.

Other than that, number 1 is probably best.

Hey Eldarplayer.

How many points are you looking at building for? (I assume 1000)

Are the lists you have asked about using units you already own or are you just starting Eldar and looking to buy your first models?

What armies do you play against regularly?

What sort of terrain do you tend to use? (ruins, forests, fortifications etc) (it changes what upgrades you might want to use for tanks)

Do you want to focus on only mech or is it more vehicles and MC's rather than foot-sloggers?

BTW, Eldar cannot cast ANY powers from inside a Wave Serpent or a Falcon, as neither of them have any fire points..

Hi, my army I am going to collect is at a 1000 range and my main opponent will be my friends tau! I am new to 40k so I will be buying my models but I do have the battleforce and unit on jetbikes. I am making my new table at the moment at it will be 2 hills on each deployment side kind of like a valley with a centre hill, forest and a river from one side to the other. My plan was to have the far seer sit at the back and cast guide to my fire prisms who have the 60" range and elevated on a hill. I will be building a mech eldar list.

If tau is going to be your main opponent, then I'd recommend close combat units (either Wraithblades, Banshees or Scorpions (Harlequins can be too expensive)), supported by long range weapons (Fire Prisms are good as can anti-tank).

For using all the stuff you already have.
Farseer w/ Singing Spear on Jetbike (120)

Dire Avengers x5
Wave Serpent - TL Starcannons, Shuriken Cannon and Holo-Fields (210)

Guardian Defenders x10
Heavy Platform - Starcannon or Brightlance (Whichever weapon you think you'll need most)
Wave Serpent - TL Starcannons, Shuriken Cannon and Holo-Fields (255)

Jetbike Squad x3 (51)

Vyper - Shuriken Cannon, Starcannon (80)

Fire Prism - Shuriken Catapult, Holo-Fields (140)

Fire Prism - Shuriken Catapult, Holo-Fields (140)

Jetbikes should be basic and kept in reserve or out of LOS, used as late game objective takers.

OR
For anti-Tau list

Farseer w/ Singing Spear on Jetbike (120)

Jetbike Squad x3 (51)

Jetbike Squad x3 (51)

Fire Prism - Shuriken Catapult, Holo-Fields (140)

Wraithknight - Suncannon, Shield, Scatter Laser (300)

Wraithknight - Suncannon, Shield, Scatter Laser (300)

This leaves you 38 points to have any extra upgrades you'd like.. but it involves almost nothing that you already have.. For any more points after this, have 2 or more close combat units in wave serpents

Running 2 Wraithknigts at 1000pts will get you a lot of flak from opponents in a friendly casual setting. So I would only recommend one. Unless you know your Tau buddy will be running 2 Riptides at the same level. Then it's fair game. Also I would recommend a stock Wraithknight over the Suncannon Scatter Laser loudout. It's 40pts cheaper iirc?

Tau can and will strip your cover saves so any Pathfinders should be your highest priority. The things like Riptides and Crisis Suits.

Best of luck

I chose fire prisims because there large blast can kill troops and small blast and lance can kill vehicles.

Prisms are not all that good really, for the price you are paying the pts can be spent better elsewhere.

Dark Eldar 35,000pts
Craftworld Eldar 27,500pts
+ 10,000pts of Ynnari, Corsairs & Harlequins

list 2 with the extra DA removed, cannons removed from wave serpent, and adding in a 3man jetbike squad. Definitely the strongest. Fire prisms are awesome, very utility oriented, tough unit.

Another valid list I shall think about. Thanks for advice.
