I'm trying to build a fluffy yet winning list based on reasonable green marines joining forces for an ambush. What are its weak points? Tactics at the bottom.
Combined arms detachment (Raptors):
HQ:
Chapter master: Bike, artificer armor, power fist, storm shield
Librarian lvl 2
Command squad: Apothecary, bikes, 5 x storm shields 2 x meltagun, 3 x power fist.
Troops:
5 man scout squad: 4 sniper rifles, 1 heavy bolter
5 man scout squad: 4 sniper rifles, 1 heavy bolter
Heavy Support:
5 man devestator squad: 2 lascannons
Dedicated transport: Rhino
Allied detachment (Raptors):
HQ:
Lias Issodon (Forgeworld)
Troops:
10 man scout squad: 10 x Combat blades
Combined arms detachment (Salamanders):
HQ:
Harath Shen
Librarian lvl 2: combi-melta (MC)
Troops:
5 man tactical squad, 1 x meltagun, 1 x combi-melta (MC)
Dedicated transport: Drop pod with deathwind launcher
5 man tactical squad, 1 x meltagun, 1 x combi-melta (MC)
Dedicated transport: Drop pod
Fast Attack:
5 man assault squad, 2 x flamer
Dedicated transport: Drop pod with deathwind launcher
5 man assault squad, 2 x flamer
Dedicated transport: Drop pod
Take Lias Issodon as the warlord. Deploy first. Deploy no one.
Then, infiltrate the chapter master with the command squad (they gain infiltrate because he has it thanks to Lias' warlord trait). infiltrate Lias Issodon right behind them with the scouts and librarian.
Infiltrate the sniper scouts and devestators wherever appropriate.
Scout both the chapter master's bikers and Lias' scout squad up as close as possible.
Go first.
Turn 1, drop whichever 2 squads would be most helpful, with both special characters.
Bikers join librarian and they melta a tank.
Harath Shen joins Chapter master and they use his bombardment.
Drop squads hit more things and help the bikers screen the scouts (for a 2+ cover save on turn 1. The scouts exist as a cheap unit to assault on turn 2 and deal 30 attacks)
The librarians exist so I can tailor their powers to my foe's list, in keeping with the null deployment ambush thing. I'm thinking telepathy would be my standby (yay psychic shriek, and hope for invisibility!)
Comments very much appreciated. I have this army fully built, with many spare units in case you can give me advice.
I also have never run a psyker heavy army and could use advice on that front, too. Thanks, people!
