So I feel like I have been lurking around here to much without contributing, so here goes.

Since I have (after going to several anonymous meetings and holding hands) realized that i need to get going with my painting, I feel that maybe if I get a little blog going I might even make some progress!

For a small presentation of myself, I am a 26 years old IT-Consultant who have to many hobbies and to many projects circling around in my head. To keep at the Wargames hobby I enjoy everything from painting, kitbashing and playing actual games (to few tho).

At the moment I am trying to focus on getting my Chaos Space Marines completed since it currently is my "main army". Current WIPs for them is a list to long to write out for the moment but, currently on my desk are some forty Plague Zombies.
When the forces of Chaos have stabilized from the warp I have a whole force of Death Korps waiting idly by to get a treatment from the brush and paints!

Unfortunately, for the moment you will have to abide my under all critique skills with the camera (and the fact that I only own an iPhone for a camera).
For the moment being I am transferring pictures from my phone, so bear with me for a moment longer and I will get some pictures up here too!

Soo finally after banging my head against the iPhone to get my pictures across to the computer i managed to move them!
I will try to tweak the quality a bit more on the pictures in the future and probably get a camera so you wont have to endure bleeding from your eyes (I live in Sweden so no lawsuits from nausea or such from looking at them)..

And the thread starter said, let there be pictures and there where pictures!


To start from the beginning i taught i would include some older pictures, just to get this party started..

The first batch of stuff that i ordered when i got back to the hobby a little bit over two years ago! After that it kind of went over board...

My original idea for my chaos army was a 1kSons army but as time went by i found that i preferred Nurgle over the sons of Tzeentch.

Todays hobby progress has so far amounted to around 40 Plague Zombies getting a first drybrush. The plan for them is to go over them with another lighter skin tone and then a wash to finish up with details.

Some more progress on the Plague Marines made. I had missed the backpacks which weren't glued on so they got a basecoat and started thinking about adding some weathering powders for rust effects on the weapons.
Also had to repair some battle damage from my last game that i put them through!

The list that I played was something like (don't have the list anymore), made more to be a bit fluffy and fun than competitive. It was a pretty close loss for the spawns of Nurgle..

Sooo this just happened... Couldn't keep my filthy fingers away when i saw it!
The amount of parts in this kit is just amazing, and it was in my opinion a bargain for around 20-30 euro.
Back to the roots of how i got started in the hobby, must be over 15 years since i built a kit like this..

I had a friend over this Saturday and got some serious hobbying done! The evening was enjoyed together with Podcasts, late night pizza at around 11 and drunk teenagers partying a couple of apartments over..

The nights progress was that i got some more layers of paint on my Zombies, touched up and started to finish my Plague Maries, battle repairs and started of on my Chaos Decimator.
My idea with the Decimator is to try my luck with nurgling it up with some GS. The idea I had is to add a nurgle fly mark on one shoulder, some general blemishes and maybe do something with the head.

The workspace set up in all its glory on the kitchen table!


Plague Zombie, started with a grey primer/base, washed with Devlan - drybrushed three layers of Vallejo flesh - washed with Sepia. Going to go over the cloth, bones and add some blood/intestine details to finish it of.


Started assembly of my Chaos Decimator Engine as a reward for working on the Plague Zombies


Also did some battle damage repairs for a 1kson and some "vanilla" Chaos Space Marines.

Thanks they where among the first models that I painted when I got back to the hobby two years ago! They could use a little love and maybe a strip to get some more layers of color but there is to much to paint at the moment...

looking good how difficult is it to assemble the Decimator?

The biggest problem with the Decimator is the posing of it. I used a lot of bluetack and actually drilled holes through the knee joints and put plastic rods through them to position them easier and to make them sturdier.
In my opinion the kit is not to hard to assemble just that it is a little bit brittle with the joints. It really looks great tho!

I hope to be able to complete the two rhinos that i have started for my Thousand Sons soon and my Helbrute. After that I have been thinking of converting my regular CSM into Berzerkers with some upgrade kits, but that project is on the back burner for now.
Can't wait to finish up my Nurgles so I can start on my DKKs!

That painting on the nurgle guys is horrible, in a good nurgly way. I like the IG zombies. Cant wait to see more!

Thank you (i guess)! I have started to feel like I am starting to get a hang of painting them. The three different batches are very different in style but i rather like mixing them to make the units more interesting.
I rather like working on the Zombies but I really feel like I want to paint something else than nurgle at the moment!

Hopefully I can get my hands on a proper camera and get my photographic skills up so i can get you some better pictures.
