Hey Dakka boyz, I have been posting and gathering a lots of info from DakkaDakka in the past week, and I think my list is ready for the final community judgement. I never been in the tournament scene, but I want to start doing so in this edition. So here is my ''go to'' 1850pts Ork list that I plan on using most of the time:
For strategy, its pretty straight forward:
-Put the Painboy and Mek in the BW with the 18 'Ard Slugga Boyz. Give them more survivability and 2 extra character to take challenge and let the Nob do is bussiness (since the Mek have no use once the package is deliver).
-Warboss on bike with warbikers. Bullying stuff, and maybe taking out some MC that can't challenge him.
-Gretchin sitting home on objective (I have to take 3 troops in order to have the 3 HQ slot)
-MANz missile rushing forward to... well kill stuff
-Tankbusta are gonna try to bust tank.
-I have put a single rokkit on BW to avoid weapon destroy turning into extra HP loss or immobilize (I cant remember now)
So, what do you guys think? Note that I want to stay away from Unbound.
Oh, that yeah, completly forgot about that. I guess I just assumed he had one haha. All right, where should I take the 5pts for it? Should I just take the BP from the Tankbusta squad?
hmm i dont know about the tankbusta nobz pk... seems like a waste of two regular boyz or some hammers...
5 bustaz will die or be on the run after the slightest shooting... so they will never leave the trukk anyway, hence 40 points for a full blown nob seems a bit over the top.
There is no reason for the boss to take eavy armor, he gets a 4+ on the bike already.
I agree with the Tankbustas, you don't need a PK on the nob, take a couple more Tankbustas. I would rather have more Tankbustas also then the bomb Squigs. In fact I would almost leave the Nob out of the squad. As small as it is the pole isn't going to help you anyways when the trukk blows up. So save the points and take another boy.
You don't have objective secured with this list, not that I think that is going to hurt it anyways. Just more a FYI.
With FNP on the boys, eavy armor is a bit over kill in some respects. Those points could be used to add more Tankbustas planks on the wagons and the Manz trukks, to help get the stuck in easier.
Like a couple others already mentioned, the nob with the bustaz isn't really adding much, as is the bomb squigs. So you could drop those and add more bustaz or add on elsewhere.
I also agree with balsak_da_mighty, eavy armor is kinda overkill when you already have fnp. With those saved points you could consider putting a kff big mek on a bike, which could serve that unit and the BW's good, though you'd have to drop your painboy. Depending on your local meta you could also consider adding a few traktor kannons to help against demon and nid's fmc's.
Other than those minor things the list looks nice though. Best of luck!
