Hi dakka, this is my first attempt at a High Elf army from the island of blood starter set. This list just uses those bits to give me a feel for how they play out and I will add/proxy stuff later to give me more understanding of how other units play out. I have four possible armies I will be facing tomorrow; WoC, WE, Bretts and Dwarfs. Since I don't know which I will be going against I will probably run High Magic vs say lore of metal. Any who here is my attempt at a list..... Please be gentle.

Plan to bunker the archmage with the Sword Masters and have the reavers harass warmachines or other more static units. After this game I want to look at either getting another island of blood set, phoenix guard, archers and spearmen. Anyway I know my hero is a few points over 25% is there anything I should look at changing or scrape the whole list?

I am new to this and have just started out with my High Elves aswell from IoB.
Curious about what answers you get and I also was wondering why you pick archmage and noble over simpel mage and prince?

Just came down to points as a prince on griffin was over the 25% for lords at 1000 pt. I rather have I the other way that was why I came here to get some feedback. I have no experience with fantasy army creation, the only thing I have know is the FOC from 40k. Loving the challenge of coming over to a different system and there seems to be more love for fantasy over 40k.

Right, Sorry I didn't specify, the few games I have played i had the prince in a great eagle and that got me under the points limit :-)
I got to remember that he is kinda squishy so I don't charge him in alone in the next game... :-)

That was an idea I had too about putting him on a GE. Just want to see how a griffin plays out to see if it is worth taking in future games. I have a feeling I will be playing against WoC but if not I wanted a general list using the models I have.

If I went by the fluff material of the IoB the prince would have Armor of Fortune and be on the griffin. However I just can't squeeze that in 1000 pts. I know I am under with this list. What would be a better list?
