building a squad of 5 bikes with a chaos lord.
the lord will have axe of blind fury.. going for a themed and fluffy type list.

ive got the models for 5 bikes plus the lord so im keeping the squad at that size. thinking whether or not i should give two of them flamers... not going to add plasma or melta because i already have a ton elsewhere. the flamer conversion i have in mind would look cool.

cant decide.. is this a waste of points and dumb? or super useful?

Eh, I'd be inclined to something else on them, just because if you're putting guns on them in general, you'll probably be shooting more than assaulting. Which kinda defeats the purpose of giving them the mark of Khorne to begin with. If you start killing models you're going to make your charges more difficult. If you're using flamers, you're probably already close to the enemy. I can kinda see the appeal.

this does make sense.
although, being able to get so close and burn something out would be really nasty on orks or nids or whatever else. for the points, seems like it could be decent

The more and more I think about it, honestly it sounds pretty good. Just because if you're going to charge something like Nobs you might as well have the backup fire support of being able to roast a few of them first. If you're Khorne, you could also take the Icon for rerolling charge distance (IIRC)

Yes. Absolutely yes. It's decent extra damage for a small investment, if you are worried about charge range then just get closer. The more damage you inflict the better.

I'd say better not

as "Khorne Bikers", you will want them in assault
and my experince is.. never put flamer in your assault units, they kill a lot, they punch hard, and leave you nothing but air to charge. sometimes it work and sometimes it dont, and when you fail a charge due to flamers.. you will know what I mean here

also, as khorne bikers you WILL be shoot a lot since everyone will be happy to see your fast-moving choppy unit die, thus you may need to JINK - then no flamer next turn.

I'd take the flamers. As such a fast unit, positioning a perfect template line up shouldn't be too hard, and then you can assault that unit. Obviously you shouldn't run around flaming stuff all game, get into close combat, but the flamers would be a nice supplement to your charges to help ensure combats only last one turn so you can make the most of your rage special rule.
